If anyone says,“ I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.

We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. Whoever does not love abides in death.Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.

Be angry and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger,and give no opportunity to the devil.

And the tongue is a fire, a world of unrighteousness. The tongue is set among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the entire course of life, and set on fire by hell.

Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

to speak evil of no one, to avoid quarreling, to be gentle, and to show perfect courtesy toward all people.

When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.

And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather fear him who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless, for to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing.

So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart.”

So the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered the Council and said,“ What are we to do? For this man performs many signs.

Beware of men, for they will deliver you over to courts and flog you in their synagogues,

They encircle me with words of hate, and attack me without cause.

But I say to you, Do not take an oath at all, either by heaven, for it is the throne of God,

One who is wise is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is reckless and careless.

if I have repaid my friend with evil or plundered my enemy without cause,

“ Then he will say to those on his left,‘ Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.

that no one transgress and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we told you beforehand and solemnly warned you.

Now the chief priests and the whole Council were seeking false testimony against Jesus that they might put him to death,

And if your hand or your foot causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life crippled or lame than with two hands or two feet to be thrown into the eternal fire.And if your eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than with two eyes to be thrown into the hell of fire.

Because of the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.

So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,

This is the Moses who said to the Israelites,‘ God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers.’

The crowd answered,“ You have a demon! Who is seeking to kill you?”

But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!

Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.

And Eliab’s anger was kindled against David, and he said,“ Why have you come down? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? and said to them,“ We, as far as we are able, have bought back our Jewish brothers who have been sold to the nations, but you even sell your brothers that they may be sold to us!” They were silent and could not find a word to say.

But the word that is written in their Law must be fulfilled:‘ They hated me without a cause.’

Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in the stocks in prison, for he was in a rage with him because of this. And Asa inflicted cruelties upon some of the people at the same time.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.

Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless?

The Jews answered him,“ Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

Let not the king impute anything to his servant or to all the house of my father, for your servant has known nothing of all this, much or little.”And the king said,“ You shall surely die, Ahimelech, you and all your father’s house.”And the king said to the guard who stood about him,“ Turn and kill the priests of the Lord, because their hand also is with David, and they knew that he fled and did not disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king would not put out their hand to strike the priests of the Lord.Then the king said to Doeg,“ You turn and strike the priests.” And Doeg the Edomite turned and struck down the priests, and he killed on that day eighty-five persons who wore the linen ephod.And Nob, the city of the priests, he put to the sword; both man and woman, child and infant, ox, donkey and sheep, he put to the sword.But one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David.And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord.And David said to Abiathar,“ I knew on that day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would surely tell Saul. I have occasioned the death of all the persons of your father’s house.Stay with me; do not be afraid, for he who seeks my life seeks your life. With me you shall be in safekeeping.”

For he sees that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others.

But when his brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, they hated him and could not speak peacefully to him.

And when Haman saw that Mordecai did not bow down or pay homage to him, Haman was filled with fury.But he disdained to lay hands on Mordecai alone. So, as they had made known to him the people of Mordecai, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus.

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

And Saul was very angry, and this saying displeased him. He said,“ They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed thousands, and what more can he have but the kingdom?”And Saul eyed David from that day on.

Then Saul’s anger was kindled against Jonathan, and he said to him,“ You son of a perverse, rebellious woman, do I not know that you have chosen the son of Jesse to your own shame, and to the shame of your mother’s nakedness?For as long as the son of Jesse lives on the earth, neither you nor your kingdom shall be established. Therefore send and bring him to me, for he shall surely die.”Then Jonathan answered Saul his father,“ Why should he be put to death? What has he done?”But Saul hurled his spear at him to strike him. So Jonathan knew that his father was determined to put David to death.

I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their brothers. And I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.And whoever will not listen to my words that he shall speak in my name, I myself will require it of him.
