For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Here is what I tell you. You must be more godly than the Pharisees and the teachers of the law. If you are not, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

“ But I warn you— unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never get into the kingdom of heaven.

“ For I say to you that unless your righteousness far surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

經士與法利賽人、坐摩西位、故彼凡命爾守者、當守而行之、但勿效其所為、以其言而不行也、以難負之重任、縛而置人肩上、己則一指不肯動、其行事故欲使人見、闊其經匣、長其衣繸、

法利賽人好利、聞斯言哂之、耶穌謂之曰、爾在人前、自稱為義、但天主知爾之心、蓋人所崇者、天主所惡也、

當求與眾和睦、亦求聖潔、蓋非有聖潔、不得見主、

是故人在基督、則為新造之人、舊事已逝、一切更新、

今斧已置樹根、凡樹不結善果者、即斫之投火、

禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾以薄荷、茴香、芹菜、十輸其一、但律法之尤重者、即義與仁與信、爾則遺之、此爾所當行者也、而彼亦不可遺、瞽而導人者、蚋則濾之、駝則吞之、○禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾潔杯盤之外、內則充滿劫奪及非義、瞽者法利賽人乎、先潔杯盤之內、則其外亦潔矣、○禍哉爾偽善之經士與法利賽人、因爾似粉飾之墓、外見為美、內則充滿屍骸、及諸污穢、爾曹亦若是、外見於人為義、而內則充滿偽善及非法、○

凡稱我曰、主也、主也者、未必盡得入天國、惟遵我天父之旨者、方得入焉、

耶穌見其憂甚、曰、有財者進天主國、難矣哉、駝穿針孔、較富者入天主國猶易也、

我誠告爾、凡欲承受天主國、不似孩提者、不得入也、○

凡不潔者、行可憎之事者、與言言原文作為誑者、皆不得入此邑、惟錄於羔之生命册者、始得入焉、

禍哉爾偽善之經士法利賽人乎、因爾似隱沒之墓、履其上者不知也、

謹防經士、彼好衣長服而遊、喜人於市問其安、喜會堂高位、席間上座、吞嫠婦之家貲、佯為長禱、其受刑必尤重也、

二人登聖殿祈禱、一法利賽人、一稅吏、法利賽人獨立祈禱曰、感謝天主、我不似他人、強索、不義、姦淫、亦不似此稅吏、我七日禁食二日、以凡所得者、十輸其一、稅吏遠立、不敢舉目仰天、搥胸曰、天主、矜憐我罪人、我告爾、得稱義而歸者、此也、非彼也、蓋凡自高者必降為卑、自卑者將升為高、○

時數萬人會集、自相擁擠、耶穌先謂門徒曰、當謹防法利賽人之酵、即偽善也、

主謂之曰、今爾法利賽人潔杯盤之外、惟爾內充滿刼奪、及諸惡、愚者乎、造其外者、非亦造其內乎、

駝穿針孔、較富者入天主國尤易、

我誠告爾、凡欲承受天主之國、不如孩提者、不得入也、

凡為我之名、接一如此之孩提者、即接我、
