For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

Here is what I tell you. You must be more godly than the Pharisees and the teachers of the law. If you are not, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.

“ But I warn you— unless your righteousness is better than the righteousness of the teachers of religious law and the Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven!

For I tell you, unless your righteousness surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never get into the kingdom of heaven.

“ For I say to you that unless your righteousness far surpasses that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.

士子法利賽人居摩西位、故凡所命爾者、悉行而守之、但勿效其所為、以其言而不行也、彼以重且難負之任、縛置人肩、己則一指弗動也、其所行者、皆欲見於人而為之、闊其佩經、大其衣緣、

法利賽人乃好利者、聞而哂之、耶穌謂之曰、爾於人前自義、然上帝知爾心、蓋人所崇者、上帝所惡也、

宜務和平及清潔於眾、蓋非清潔未有見主者、

是以在基督中者、乃為新造之人、舊事已逝、諸事更新矣、

今斧置樹根、凡不結善果者、則斫之、委於火、

禍哉、爾偽善之士子與法利賽人乎、以爾於薄荷、茴香、馬芹、十輸其一、而於律之尤重者、若義與慈與信、則遺之、此乃爾所當行、而彼亦不可遺也、瞽而導者乎、蚋則濾之、駝則吞之、○禍哉、爾偽善之士子與法利賽人乎、以爾潔杯盤之外、而內充以劫奪邪侈也、瞽目之法利賽人乎、先潔杯盤之內、則其外亦潔矣、○禍哉、爾偽善之士子與法利賽人乎、爾似粉堊之塋、外見為美、內則死骸諸穢充之矣、如是、爾以義外見於人、內則偽善不法充之矣、○

凡稱我曰、主也主也者、未必盡入天國、惟遵我父之旨者而已、

耶穌見之、曰、有財者入上帝國難矣哉、駝穿針孔、較富者入上帝國猶易也、

我誠語汝、凡承上帝國、而不如孩提者、斷不得入也、○

凡不潔可憎及誑者、決不得入、惟錄於羔之維生書者入焉、

禍哉爾乎、以爾似隱沒之墓、履其上者不知也、○

謹防士子、好衣長服而遊、受祝於市、會堂高座、筵間首位、乃吞嫠婦家資、佯為長祈、其受刑必尤重也、

二人登殿祈禱、一為法利賽人、一為稅吏、法利賽人立而自禱曰、上帝歟、我謝爾、以我不似他人強索、不義、淫亂、亦不似此稅吏、我七日禁食者二、而以所得者十輸其一、稅吏遠立、不敢舉目仰天、第拊膺曰、上帝歟、憐我罪人也、我語汝、此人歸、較彼見義、蓋自高者、將卑之、自卑者、將高之也、○

時、眾集數萬、致相蹂踐、耶穌謂其徒曰、當謹防法利賽人之酵、即偽善也、

主謂之曰、今爾法利賽人、惟杯盤之外是潔、然爾內則充以刧奪、惡慝、無知者乎、造其外者、不亦造其內耶、

駝穿針孔、較富者入上帝國猶易也、

我誠語汝、凡承上帝國、而不如孩提者斷不得入也、

凡以我名接一如是孩提者、即接我、
