看見兩個身穿白衣的天使，坐在安放耶穌身體的地方，一個在頭那邊，一個在腳那邊。天使問她：“婦人，你為甚麼哭？”她說：“有人把我的主搬走了，我不知道他們把他放在哪裡。”

他們蒙了啟示，為這些事效力，並不是為自己，而是為你們。現在，藉著傳福音給你們的人，靠著從天上差來的聖靈，把這些事傳給了你們；甚至天使也很想詳細察看這些事。

發現石頭已經從墳墓輥開了，就進去，卻找不著主耶穌的身體。她們正為此事猜疑的時候，忽然有兩個人，穿著閃爍耀目的衣服，站在她們旁邊。她們害怕，把臉伏在地上。那兩個人對她們說：“為甚麼在死人中找活人呢？

彼此說：“誰可以給我們輥開墓門的石頭呢？”原來那塊石頭非常大，她們抬頭一看，卻見石頭已經輥開了。她們進了墳墓，看見一位身穿白袍的青年，坐在右邊，就非常驚恐。

忽然發生了大地震，以致監牢的地基都搖動起來，所有的監門立刻開了，囚犯的鎖鍊都鬆了。

敬虔的奧祕真偉大啊，這是眾人所公認的，就是：“他在肉身顯現，在聖靈裡稱義（“在聖靈裡稱義”或譯：“被聖靈稱義”），被天使看見；被傳於列國，被世人信服，被接到榮耀裡。”

忽然，聖所裡的幔子從上到下裂成兩半；地面震動，石頭崩裂；而且墳墓開了，許多睡了的聖徒的身體也復活了，從墳墓裡出來；到了耶穌復活之後，他們進到聖城向許多人顯現。

禮拜日清早，天還沒有亮的時候，抹大拉的馬利亞來到墓旁，看見石頭已經從墳墓移開了。

於是，在天上神的聖所開了，他的約櫃就在他的聖所中顯現出來。隨即有閃電、響聲、雷轟、地震、大冰雹。
