律法教师和法利赛人密切地监视耶稣，看祂会不会在安息日医治病人，好找个借口控告祂。耶稣知道他们的心思，就对那个右手萎缩的人说：“起来，站在大家面前！”那人就起来站在那里。耶稣问众人：“我问你们，在安息日应该行善呢，还是作恶呢？救人呢，还是害人呢？”

“因为我耶和华喜爱公正，憎恶抢劫之罪。我必凭信实赏赐我的子民，与他们立永远的约。

瞎眼的向导啊！你们滤出蚊虫，却吞下骆驼。

不可把男女庙妓的收入带到你们上帝耶和华的殿还愿，因为你们的上帝耶和华憎恶他们。

黎明的时候，众人从该亚法那里把耶稣押往总督府，他们自己却没有进去，因为怕沾染污秽，不能吃逾越节的晚餐。
