我實實在在地告訴你們，時候快到了，現在就是，死人將聽見上帝兒子的聲音，聽見的將存活。因為正如父自己是生命的源頭，祂也同樣讓子作生命的源頭，又把審判的權柄交給祂，因為祂是人子。你們不要因此而驚奇，時候一到，一切在墳墓裡的死人都要聽見上帝兒子的聲音，他們都要從墳墓裡出來。行善的人復活後得永生，作惡的人復活後被定罪。」

許多長眠地下的人必醒過來，有些得到永生，有些蒙受羞辱，永遠被憎惡。

然而，屬你的人必復活，他們的屍體必站起來。睡在塵土中的人必醒來歡唱！你必使死人復活，如清晨的甘露使大地恢復生機。

然而，基督已經從死裡復活，祂是死人中第一個復活的。

我們既然相信耶穌死了，又復活了，也要相信上帝必把那些安息的信徒和耶穌一同帶來。

祂必永遠吞滅死亡。主耶和華必擦去各人臉上的眼淚，從世上除掉祂子民的羞辱。這是耶和華說的。

聽著，我要告訴你們一個奧祕：我們並不是都要死亡，乃是都要改變——

主替我們死，使我們無論是醒是睡，都可以與祂同活。

「主啊，不要追究他們的罪！」說完後，就斷氣了。

我要把他們從陰間的權勢下贖回嗎？我要救他們脫離死亡嗎？死亡啊，你去降災給他們吧！陰間啊，你去毀滅他們吧！我不會再憐憫他們。

正因如此，你們當中有許多人身體軟弱，疾病纏身，死亡的也不少。
