And as Peter was beneath in the court, there cometh one of the maids of the high priest;and seeing Peter warming himself, she looked upon him, and saith, Thou also wast with the Nazarene, even Jesus.But he denied, saying, I neither know, nor understand what thou sayest: and he went out into the porch; and the cock crew.And the maid saw him, and began again to say to them that stood by, This is one of them.But he again denied it. And after a little while again they that stood by said to Peter, Of a truth thou art one of them; for thou art a Galilæan.But he began to curse, and to swear, I know not this man of whom ye speak.And straightway the second time the cock crew. And Peter called to mind the word, how that Jesus said unto him, Before the cock crow twice, thou shalt deny me thrice. And when he thought thereon, he wept.

And he came thither unto a cave, and lodged there; and, behold, the word of Jehovah came to him, and he said unto him, What doest thou here, Elijah?

Then were gathered together the chief priests, and the elders of the people, unto the court of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas;

But Peter followed him afar off, unto the court of the high priest, and entered in, and sat with the officers, to see the end.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

They answered and said unto him, Art thou also of Galilee? Search, and see that out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.

After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the enrolment, and drew away some of the people after him: he also perished; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad.

Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, What, doth the Christ come out of Galilee?

but Peter was standing at the door without. So the other disciple, who was known unto the high priest, went out and spake unto her that kept the door, and brought in Peter.The maid therefore that kept the door saith unto Peter, Art thou also one of this man’s disciples? He saith, I am not.Now the servants and the officers were standing there, having made a fire of coals; for it was cold; and they were warming themselves: and Peter also was with them, standing and warming himself.

And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the court, and had sat down together, Peter sat in the midst of them.And a certain maid seeing him as he sat in the light of the fire, and looking stedfastly upon him, said, This man also was with him.But he denied, saying, Woman, I know him not.And after a little while another saw him, and said, Thou also art one of them. But Peter said, Man, I am not.And after the space of about one hour another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this man also was with him; for he is a Galilæan.But Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew.And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how that he said unto him, Before the cock crow this day thou shalt deny me thrice.And he went out, and wept bitterly.

and delivered righteous Lot, sore distressed by the lascivious life of the wicked( for that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their lawless deeds):the Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment unto the day of judgment;

But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning over Judæa in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither; and being warned of God in a dream, he withdrew into the parts of Galilee,and came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophets, that he should be called a Nazarene.

Now Simon Peter was standing and warming himself. They said therefore unto him, Art thou also one of his disciples? He denied, and said, I am not.One of the servants of the high priest, being a kinsman of him whose ear Peter cut off, saith, Did not I see thee in the garden with him?Peter therefore denied again: and straightway the cock crew.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, Nor standeth in the way of sinners, Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:

And the multitudes said, This is the prophet, Jesus, from Nazareth of Galilee.
