Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

He said furthermore unto me, Son of man, seest thou what they do?[ even] the great abominations that the house of Israel committeth here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn thee yet again,[ and] thou shalt see greater abominations.

Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.

And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them,[ that there shall] not[ be] a man[ left]: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

When they stood,[ these] stood; and when they were lifted up,[ these] lifted up themselves[ also]: for the spirit of the living creature[ was] in them.Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also[ were] beside them, and[ every one] stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD’S house; and the glory of the God of Israel[ was] over them above.
