For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.”( Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)Then the angel said to me,“ Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added,“ These are the true words of God.”

Luke 14:16-24
Jesus replied:“ A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests.At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited,‘ Come, for everything is now ready.’“ But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said,‘ I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’“ Another said,‘ I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’“ Still another said,‘ I just got married, so I can’t come.’“ The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant,‘ Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’“‘ Sir,’ the servant said,‘ what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’“ Then the master told his servant,‘ Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.I tell you, not one of those who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.’”

Ephesians 5:24-32
Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for herto make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word,and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church—for we are members of his body.“ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh.”This is a profound mystery— but I am talking about Christ and the church.

The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete.He must become greater; I must become less.”

He told them another parable:“ The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds come and perch in its branches.”He told them still another parable:“ The kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into about sixty pounds of flour until it worked all through the dough.”

Matthew 22:2-14
“ The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.“ Then he sent some more servants and said,‘ Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.’“ But they paid no attention and went off— one to his field, another to his business.The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them.The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.“ Then he said to his servants,‘ The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come.So go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.’So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, the bad as well as the good, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.“ But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes.He asked,‘ How did you get in here without wedding clothes, friend?’ The man was speechless.“ Then the king told the attendants,‘ Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’“ For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

Matthew 25:1-14
“ At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom.Five of them were foolish and five were wise.The foolish ones took their lamps but did not take any oil with them.The wise ones, however, took oil in jars along with their lamps.The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep.“ At midnight the cry rang out:‘ Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’“ Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.The foolish ones said to the wise,‘ Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’“‘ No,’ they replied,‘ there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’“ But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.“ Later the others also came.‘ Lord, Lord,’ they said,‘ open the door for us!’“ But he replied,‘ Truly I tell you, I don’t know you.’“ Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.“ Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them.

“ The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.“ Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant looking for fine pearls.When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it.“ Once again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was let down into the lake and caught all kinds of fish.
