But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first, and said,‘ Son, go work today in my vineyard.’

『爾曹於意云何：人有二子、諭其長者曰：「兒今日可往葡萄園工作。」

“ What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said,‘ Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’

“ What do you think about this? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said,‘ Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’

“ But what do you think about this? A man with two sons told the older boy,‘ Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’

“ What do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said,‘ My son, go work in the vineyard today.’

“ But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said,‘ Son, go work today in the vineyard.’

“ But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said,‘ son, go, work today in my vineyard.’

But what think ye? A man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to- day in the vineyard.

“ But what do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said,‘ My son, go, work in the vineyard today.’

But what think ye? A[ certain] man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.

“ What do you think? A man had two sons. He went to the first and said,‘ Son, go and work in the vineyard today.’

Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.

Or those eighteen, on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them; do you think that they were worse offenders than all the men who dwell in Jerusalem?

“ For the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who was the master of a household, who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

“ It is like a man, traveling to another country, having left his house, and given authority to his servants, and to each one his work, and also commanded the doorkeeper to keep watch.

“ Hear another parable. There was a man who was a master of a household, who planted a vineyard, set a hedge about it, dug a wine press in it, built a tower, leased it out to farmers, and went into another country.

He said,“ Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying,“ What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”

Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did likewise.About the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle. He said to them,‘ Why do you stand here all day idle?’“ They said to him,‘ Because no one has hired us.’“ He said to them,‘ You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.’

Tell us therefore, what do you think? Is it lawful to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”

He said,“ A certain man had two sons.The younger of them said to his father,‘ Father, give me my share of your property.’ He divided his livelihood between them.Not many days after, the younger son gathered all of this together and traveled into a far country. There he wasted his property with riotous living.When he had spent all of it, there arose a severe famine in that country, and he began to be in need.He went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed pigs.He wanted to fill his belly with the husks that the pigs ate, but no one gave him any.But when he came to himself he said,‘ How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough to spare, and I’m dying with hunger!I will get up and go to my father, and will tell him,“ Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight.I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants.”’“ He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.The son said to him,‘ Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’“ But the father said to his servants,‘ Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and sandals on his feet.Bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let’s eat, and celebrate;for this, my son, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’ Then they began to celebrate.“ Now his elder son was in the field. As he came near to the house, he heard music and dancing.He called one of the servants to him, and asked what was going on.He said to him,‘ Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and healthy.’But he was angry, and would not go in. Therefore his father came out, and begged him.But he answered his father,‘ Behold, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed a commandment of yours, but you never gave me a goat, that I might celebrate with my friends.But when this your son came, who has devoured your living with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’“ He said to him,‘ Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’”
