“ The workers who were hired about five in the afternoon came and each received a denarius.

“ The workers who were hired about five o’clock came. Each received the usual day’s pay.

And when those hired about the eleventh hour came, each of them received a denarius.

When those hired at five o’clock were paid, each received a full day’s wage.

“ When those who were hired about five came, they each received one denarius.

When those hired about the eleventh hour came, each one received a denarius.

And when those came who were hired about the eleventh hour, they each received a denarius.

And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a shilling.

When those hired about five o’clock came, each received a full day’s pay.

For what does the Scripture say?“ Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”Now to him who works, the reward is not counted as grace, but as something owed.But to him who doesn’t work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.Even as David also pronounces blessing on the man to whom God counts righteousness apart from works,

When he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

About the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle. He said to them,‘ Why do you stand here all day idle?’“ They said to him,‘ Because no one has hired us.’“ He said to them,‘ You also go into the vineyard, and you will receive whatever is right.’

The law came in that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace abounded more exceedingly;that as sin reigned in death, even so grace might reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

The grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.The saying is faithful and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.However, for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first, Jesus Christ might display all his patience for an example of those who were going to believe in him for eternal life.

for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,not of works, that no one would boast.For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.

But the other answered, and rebuking him said,“ Don’t you even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation?And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward for our deeds, but this man has done nothing wrong.”He said to Jesus,“ Lord, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”Jesus said to him,“ Assuredly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise.”
