“ You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired worker shall not remain with you all night until the morning.

You shall give him his wages on the same day, before the sun sets( for he is poor and counts on it), lest he cry against you to the Lord, and you be guilty of sin.

So they went up to the steward of Joseph’s house and spoke with him at the door of the house,

For an overseer, as God’s steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain,

Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them.And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done.

He will render to each one according to his works:to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.

and the enemy who sowed them is the devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are angels.Just as the weeds are gathered and burned with fire, so will it be at the end of the age.

“ When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

And the Lord said,“ Who then is the faithful and wise manager, whom his master will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the proper time?

so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

And remain in the same house, eating and drinking what they provide, for the laborer deserves his wages. Do not go from house to house.

and Joanna, the wife of Chuza, Herod’s household manager, and Susanna, and many others, who provided for them out of their means.

He also said to the disciples,“ There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his possessions.And he called him and said to him,‘ What is this that I hear about you? Turn in the account of your management, for you can no longer be manager.’

But Abram said,“ O Lord God, what will you give me, for I continue childless, and the heir of my house is Eliezer of Damascus?”

This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful.

So Joseph found favor in his sight and attended him, and he made him overseer of his house and put him in charge of all that he had.From the time that he made him overseer in his house and over all that he had, the Lord blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; the blessing of the Lord was on all that he had, in house and field.So he left all that he had in Joseph’s charge, and because of him he had no concern about anything but the food he ate. Now Joseph was handsome in form and appearance.

Now after a long time the master of those servants came and settled accounts with them.

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:
