The crowd rebuked them and told them to be quiet, but they shouted all the louder,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

眾責之、使緘默、瞽者愈呼曰、主、大衛之裔矜恤我、

眾責之、使緘默、瞽者愈呼曰、主、大闢之裔、矜恤我也、

眾斥之、使緘默、瞽者愈呼曰、主、大衛之裔、矜恤我、

眾斥勿喧、而二人愈益揚聲呼曰：『主、大維子、其垂憐焉。』

The crowd commanded them to stop. They told them to be quiet. But the two men shouted even louder,“ Lord! Son of David! Have mercy on us!”

The crowd rebuked them, telling them to be silent, but they cried out all the more,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

“ Be quiet!” the crowd yelled at them. But they only shouted louder,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

The crowd demanded that they keep quiet, but they cried out all the more,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

But the crowd sternly warned them to be quiet; yet they cried out all the more,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying,“ Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!”

And the multitude rebuked them, that they should hold their peace: but they cried out the more, saying, Lord, have mercy on us, thou son of David.

The crowd told them to keep quiet, but they cried out all the more,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, Have mercy on us, O Lord,[ thou] Son of David.

The crowd scolded them to get them to be quiet. But they shouted even more loudly,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Then people brought little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked them.

pray continually,

Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up.He said:“ In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea,‘ Grant me justice against my adversary.’“ For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself,‘ Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think,yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’”And the Lord said,“ Listen to what the unjust judge says.And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more,“ Son of David, have mercy on me!”

“ Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.“ So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.

When the man saw that he could not overpower him, he touched the socket of Jacob’s hip so that his hip was wrenched as he wrestled with the man.Then the man said,“ Let me go, for it is daybreak.” But Jacob replied,“ I will not let you go unless you bless me.”The man asked him,“ What is your name?”“ Jacob,” he answered.Then the man said,“ Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome.”Jacob said,“ Please tell me your name.” But he replied,“ Why do you ask my name?” Then he blessed him there.

Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him,“ Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
