Two blind men were sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was going by, they shouted,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

Two blind men were sitting by the side of the road. They heard that Jesus was going by. So they shouted,“ Lord! Son of David! Have mercy on us!”

And behold, there were two blind men sitting by the roadside, and when they heard that Jesus was passing by, they cried out,“ Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus( which means“ son of Timaeus”), was sitting by the roadside begging.

“ What do you think about the Messiah? Whose son is he?”“ The son of David,” they replied.

The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,“ Hosanna to the Son of David!”“ Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”“ Hosanna in the highest heaven!”

“ Hear, you deaf; look, you blind, and see!

Then they brought him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute, and Jesus healed him, so that he could both talk and see.All the people were astonished and said,“ Could this be the Son of David?”

But he was a prophet and knew that God had promised him on oath that he would place one of his descendants on his throne.

“ The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free,

Like the blind we grope along the wall, feeling our way like people without eyes. At midday we stumble as if it were twilight; among the strong, we are like the dead.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn,

At that very time Jesus cured many who had diseases, sicknesses and evil spirits, and gave sight to many who were blind.

A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out,“ Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon- possessed and suffering terribly.”

Then will the eyes of the blind be opened and the ears of the deaf unstopped.Then will the lame leap like a deer, and the mute tongue shout for joy. Water will gush forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.

I will lead the blind by ways they have not known, along unfamiliar paths I will guide them; I will turn the darkness into light before them and make the rough places smooth. These are the things I will do; I will not forsake them.

As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth.His disciples asked him,“ Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”“ Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus,“ but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes.“ Go,” he told him,“ wash in the Pool of Siloam”( this word means“ Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing.His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked,“ Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?”Some claimed that he was. Others said,“ No, he only looks like him.” But he himself insisted,“ I am the man.”“ How then were your eyes opened?” they asked.He replied,“ The man they call Jesus made some mud and put it on my eyes. He told me to go to Siloam and wash. So I went and washed, and then I could see.”“ Where is this man?” they asked him.“ I don’t know,” he said.

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out,“ Have mercy on us, Son of David!”When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them,“ Do you believe that I am able to do this?”“ Yes, Lord,” they replied.Then he touched their eyes and said,“ According to your faith let it be done to you”;and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly,“ See that no one knows about this.”But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.

the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous.

regarding his Son, who as to his earthly life was a descendant of David,and who through the Spirit of holiness was appointed the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.

The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them.

In that day the deaf will hear the words of the scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind will see.
