Whoever desires to be first among you shall be your bondservant,

谁愿为首，就必作你们的仆人。

孰願為首、當為爾僕。

and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—

And anyone who wants to be first must be your slave.

and whoever would be first among you must be your slave,

and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave.

and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave;

and whoever desires to be first among you shall be your slave;

And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave—

and whosoever would be first among you shall be your servant:

And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:

and whoever wants to be first among you must be your slave–

For we don’t preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake,

But not so with you. But one who is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.

He came to Capernaum, and when he was in the house he asked them,“ What were you arguing among yourselves on the way?”But they were silent, for they had disputed with one another on the way about who was the greatest.He sat down, and called the twelve; and he said to them,“ If any man wants to be first, he shall be last of all, and servant of all.”

Whoever therefore humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.

For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law;to those who are without law, as without law( not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law.To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.Now I do this for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it.

You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities, and those who were with me.In all things I gave you an example, that so laboring you ought to help the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said,‘ It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

Are they servants of Christ?( I speak as one beside himself.) I am more so: in labors more abundantly, in prisons more abundantly, in stripes above measure, and in deaths often.Five times I received forty stripes minus one from the Jews.Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I suffered shipwreck. I have been a night and a day in the deep.I have been in travels often, perils of rivers, perils of robbers, perils from my countrymen, perils from the Gentiles, perils in the city, perils in the wilderness, perils in the sea, perils among false brothers;in labor and travail, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, and in cold and nakedness.

For I reckon that I am not at all behind the very best apostles.

I am debtor both to Greeks and to foreigners, both to the wise and to the foolish.

I will most gladly spend and be spent for your souls. If I love you more abundantly, am I loved the less?
