Not so shall it be among you: but whosoever would become great among you shall be your minister;

Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,

Don’t be like that. Instead, anyone who wants to be important among you must be your servant.

It shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant,

But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant,

It must not be like that among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant,

It is not this way among you, but whoever wants to become prominent among you shall be your servant,

Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.

And he spake a parable unto those that were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief seats; saying unto them,When thou art bidden of any man to a marriage feast, sit not down in the chief seat; lest haply a more honorable man than thou be bidden of him,and he that bade thee and him shall come and say to thee, Give this man place; and then thou shalt begin with shame to take the lowest place.But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest place; that when he that hath bidden thee cometh, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have glory in the presence of all that sit at meat with thee.For every one that exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Then shall they also answer, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?

In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed thee and thou wast not cleansed, thou shalt not be cleansed from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my wrath toward thee to rest.

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to do service for the sake of them that shall inherit salvation?

( for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds);casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;and being in readiness to avenge all disobedience, when your obedience shall be made full.Ye look at the things that are before your face. If any man trusteth in himself that he is Christ’s, let him consider this again with himself, that, even as he is Christ’s, so also are we.For though I should glory somewhat abundantly concerning our authority( which the Lord gave for building you up, and not for casting you down), I shall not be put to shame:that I may not seem as if I would terrify you by my letters.For, His letters, they say, are weighty and strong; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech of no account.

And when they were at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John as their attendant.

Jesus said,“ My kingdom is not of this world. If it were, my servants would fight to prevent my arrest by the Jewish leaders. But now my kingdom is from another place.” (niv)

May the Lord grant that he will find mercy from the Lord on that day! You know very well in how many ways he helped me in Ephesus. (niv)

I saw that the woman was drunk with the blood of God’s holy people, the blood of those who bore testimony to Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly astonished. (niv)

Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon.It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.And it performed great signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to the earth in full view of the people.Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads,so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.
