So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying:

Because zeal for Your house has eaten me up, And the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen on me.When I wept and chastened my soul with fasting, That became my reproach.

They answered Him,“ Jesus of Nazareth.” Jesus said to them,“ I am He.” And Judas, who betrayed Him, also stood with them.

“ Men of Israel, hear these words: Jesus of Nazareth, a Man attested by God to you by miracles, wonders, and signs which God did through Him in your midst, as you yourselves also know—

Also it was I who brought you up from the land of Egypt, And led you forty years through the wilderness, To possess the land of the Amorite.I raised up some of your sons as prophets, And some of your young men as Nazirites. Is it not so, O you children of Israel?” Says the Lord.“ But you gave the Nazirites wine to drink, And commanded the prophets saying,‘ Do not prophesy!’

‘ Now this is the law of the Nazirite: When the days of his separation are fulfilled, he shall be brought to the door of the tabernacle of meeting.

Then she made a vow and said,“ O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.”
