But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,

But then he heard that Archelaus was king of Judea. Archelaus was ruling in place of his father Herod. This made Joseph afraid to go there. Joseph had been warned in a dream. So he went back to the land of Galilee instead.

約瑟和馬利亞照主的律法辦完了一切的事，就回加利利，到自己的城拿撒勒去了。

於是，他們在苦難中哀求耶和華；他從他們的禍患中搭救他們，又領他們行走直路，使他們往可居住的城邑。

正思念這事的時候，有主的使者向他夢中顯現，說：「大衛的子孫約瑟，不要怕！只管娶過你的妻子馬利亞來，因她所懷的孕是從聖靈來的。

因為這神永永遠遠為我們的神；他必作我們引路的，直到死時。

博士因為在夢中被主指示不要回去見希律，就從別的路回本地去了。他們去後，有主的使者向約瑟夢中顯現，說：「起來！帶着小孩子同他母親逃往埃及，住在那裏，等我吩咐你；因為希律必尋找小孩子，要除滅他。」

你要以你的訓言引導我，以後必接我到榮耀裏。

亞拿尼亞回答說：「主啊，我聽見許多人說，這人怎樣在耶路撒冷多多苦害你的聖徒，並且他在這裏有從祭司長得來的權柄捆綁一切求告你名的人。」

他們回答說：「你也是出於加利利嗎？你且去查考，就可知道加利利沒有出過先知。」

你出你入，耶和華要保護你，從今時直到永遠。

撒母耳說：「我怎能去呢？掃羅若聽見，必要殺我。」耶和華說：「你可以帶一隻牛犢去，就說：『我來是要向耶和華獻祭。』

耶和華－你的救贖主，以色列的聖者如此說：我是耶和華－你的神，教訓你，使你得益處，引導你所當行的路。甚願你素來聽從我的命令！你的平安就如河水；你的公義就如海浪。

希律死了以後，有主的使者在埃及向約瑟夢中顯現，說：

有的說：「這是基督。」但也有的說：「基督豈是從加利利出來的嗎？經上豈不是說『基督是大衛的後裔，從大衛本鄉伯利恆出來的』嗎？」
