吾語爾、凡非因不貞之故、出其妻而別娶者、姦也；娶已出之妻者、亦姦也。』

I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

Here is what I tell you. Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery. A man may divorce his wife only if she has not been faithful to him.”

And I say to you: whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery.”

And I tell you this, whoever divorces his wife and marries someone else commits adultery— unless his wife has been unfaithful.”

A wife is bound as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is free to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord.

“ Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from a husband commits adultery.

but I say to you that everyone who divorces his wife, except for the reason of sexual immorality, makes her commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

But to the married I give instructions, not I, but the Lord, that the wife is not to leave her husband( but if she does leave, she must remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband is not to divorce his wife.But to the rest I say, not the Lord, that if any brother has an unbelieving wife, and she consents to live with him, he must not divorce her.And if any woman has an unbelieving husband, and he consents to live with her, she must not divorce her husband.

It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and sexual immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, namely, that someone has his father’s wife.

But God came to Abimelech in a dream of the night, and said to him,“ Behold, you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is married.”

And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a certificate of divorce, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and prostituted herself also.

And He* said to them,“ Whoever divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her;and if she herself divorces her husband and marries another man, she is committing adultery.”

You also multiplied your obscene practice with the land of merchants, Chaldea; yet even with this you were not satisfied.” ’ ”

For the married woman is bound by law to her husband as long as he is alive; but if her husband dies, she is released from the law concerning the husband.So then, if while her husband is alive she gives herself to another man, she will be called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is not an adulteress if she gives herself to another man.

“ But you trusted in your beauty and became unfaithful because of your fame, and you poured out your obscene practices on every passer by to whom it might be tempting.

“ Then I passed by you and saw you, and behold, you were at the time for love; so I spread My garment over you and covered your nakedness. I also swore an oath to you and entered into a covenant with you so that you became Mine,” declares the Lord God.

Then Pharaoh called Abram and said,“ What is this that you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?Why did you say,‘ She is my sister,’ so that I took her for myself as a wife? Now then, here is your wife, take her and go!”

God says,“ If a husband divorces his wife And she leaves him And becomes another man’s wife, Will he return to her again? Would that land not be completely defiled? But you are a prostitute with many lovers; Yet you turn to Me,” declares the Lord.

Furthermore, he made high places in the mountains of Judah, and caused the inhabitants of Jerusalem to be unfaithful, and led Judah astray.

The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise the husband also does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
