Jesus replied,“ Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.

He said to them,“ Because of your hardness of heart Moses allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.

以下這樣的事你們又行了。你們將妻子的眼淚哭泣和唉哼、遮蓋了永恆主的祭壇，因為永恆主不再垂顧供物，不再喜悅從你們手中收納。你們還問說：『為甚麼呢？』那是因為永恆主在你和你幼年所娶的妻之間作證婚者啊：她是你的配偶，是你盟約之妻，你卻對她不忠實。

永恆主這麼說：『你們要站在路上察看，訪問往古的路徑，哪一條是好的路，你們便在那上頭行；這樣、你們就得安然。但他們卻說：「我們不在那上頭行。」

因此人才離開父親和母親，同他的妻子膠結，二人就成為一體了。

挪亞就進樓船，也帶他的兒子、妻子、和兒媳婦、一同進去，要躲避洪流的水。

耶穌回答他說：『你且容許着吧；因為我們這樣行盡全禮是理所當然的。』於是約翰許了他。

不可硬着心，像在米利巴，在曠野瑪撒的日子。

使心剛硬如金鋼石、不聽從禮節規律和話語、就是萬軍之永恆主用自己的靈所傳達，由從前的神言人經手所發表的；故此有大震怒從萬軍之永恆主那裏發出。

耶穌對他們說：『是為着你們的硬心摩西才寫了這條誡命給你們的。

惡魔求耶穌說：『你若趕我們，就打發我們進豬羣去吧。』

我說這話、是按讓步特許的辦法，不是憑詔命說的。
