and said,‘ For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and will be united with his wife, and the two will become one flesh’?

且謂「因此人將離其父母、好合其妻、二人成為一體。」

Or do you not know that anyone who is united with a prostitute is one body with her? For it is said,“ The two will become one flesh.”

My soul pursues you; your right hand upholds me.

They came from nations about which the LORD had warned the Israelites,“ You must not establish friendly relations with them! If you do, they will surely shift your allegiance to their gods.” But Solomon was irresistibly attracted to them.

Listen, O princess! Observe and pay attention! Forget your homeland and your family!

But Jesus said to them,“ He wrote this commandment for you because of your hard hearts.But from the beginning of creation he made them male and female.For this reason a man will leave his father and mother,and the two will become one flesh. So they are no longer two, but one flesh.Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.”

But you who remained faithful to the LORD your God are still alive to this very day, every one of you.

It is not the wife who has the rights to her own body, but the husband. In the same way, it is not the husband who has the rights to his own body, but the wife.
