Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked,“ Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

And behold, a man came up to him, saying,“ Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”

Someone came to Jesus with this question:“ Teacher, what good deed must I do to have eternal life?”

And someone came to Him and said,“ Teacher, what good thing shall I do so that I may obtain eternal life?”

Now behold, one came and said to Him,“ Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?”

And behold, one came to him and said, Teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?

Just then someone came up and asked Him,“ Teacher, what good must I do to have eternal life?”

Now someone came up to him and said,“ Teacher, what good thing must I do to gain eternal life?”

Behold, one came to him and said,“ Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”

And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good?[ there is] none good but one,[ that is], God.Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men[ it is] impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s,But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

( For the life was manifested, and we have seen[ it], and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any[ man] pluck them out of my hand.

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

But Jesus beheld[ them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true,[ even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame[ and] everlasting contempt.

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none[ is] good, save one,[ that is], God.Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.And when he heard this, he was very sorrowful: for he was very rich.And when Jesus saw that he was very sorrowful, he said, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!For it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.And they that heard[ it] said, Who then can be saved?And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.Then Peter said, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or parents, or brethren, or wife, or children, for the kingdom of God’s sake,Who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.

But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.For the wages of sin[ is] death; but the gift of God[ is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
