Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked,“ Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?”

And as he was going forth into the way, there ran one to him, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Teacher, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good save one, even God.Thou knowest the commandments, Do not kill, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor thy father and mother.And he said unto him, Teacher, all these things have I observed from my youth.And Jesus looking upon him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.But his countenance fell at the saying, and he went away sorrowful: for he was one that had great possessions.And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!And the disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!It is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.And they were astonished exceedingly, saying unto him, Then who can be saved?Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for all things are possible with God.Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.Jesus said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or mother, or father, or children, or lands, for my sake, and for the gospel’s sake,but he shall receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.

that whosoever believeth may in him have eternal life.

And these shall go away into eternal punishment: but the righteous into eternal life.

keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on the life which is life indeed.

He that loveth his life loseth it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.

that, being justified by his grace, we might be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.

howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me as chief might Jesus Christ show forth all his longsuffering, for an ensample of them that should thereafter believe on him unto eternal life.

and brought them out and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

And every one that hath left houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and shall inherit eternal life.

Ye search the scriptures, because ye think that in them ye have eternal life; and these are they which bear witness of me;
