But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and[ that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

“但无论谁使信我的这些卑微人中的一个绊倒，对那人来说，倒不如脖子上被拴上大磨石，沉到深海里。

凡使這些信我的微小者之一個絆跌的，就使一塊驢牽的磨石掛在他的脖子上，沉在海洋裏，對於他還有益。

「但無論誰使信我的這些卑微人中的一個絆倒，對那人來說，倒不如脖子上被拴上大磨石，沉到深海裡。

陷信我小子之一者、寧以巨磨懸其頸、沉於深海、

若陷信我之小子於罪者、寧以巨磨懸其頸、沉於深海、○

凡使此信我之一小子、陷於罪者、寧以磨石懸其頸、沈於深海、

苟使信我之一介小子墮入罪中、不如磨石繫頸、沉諸淵海之為愈也。

“ If anyone causes one of these little ones— those who believe in me— to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.

“ What if someone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin? If they do, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and be drowned at the bottom of the sea.

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.

But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.

“ But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to fall away— it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea.

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it is better for him that a heavy millstone be hung around his neck, and that he be drowned in the depths of the sea.

“ But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

but whoso shall cause one of these little ones that believe on me to stumble, it is profitable for him that a great millstone should be hanged about his neck, and that he should be sunk in the depth of the sea.

“ But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me— it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea!

“ But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the open sea.

but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck, and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea.

And whosoever shall offend one of[ these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe[ unto him], through whom they come!It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in[ his] brother’s way.I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that[ there is] nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him[ it is] unclean.But if thy brother be grieved with[ thy] meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.

Seeing[ it is] a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours become a stumblingblock to them that are weak.For if any man see thee which hast knowledge sit at meat in the idol’s temple, shall not the conscience of him which is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols;And through thy knowledge shall the weak brother perish, for whom Christ died?But when ye sin so against the brethren, and wound their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ.Wherefore, if meat make my brother to offend, I will eat no flesh while the world standeth, lest I make my brother to offend.

[ Saying], Touch not mine anointed, and do my prophets no harm.

Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:Even as I please all[ men] in all[ things], not seeking mine own profit, but the[ profit] of many, that they may be saved.

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.Let every one of us please[ his] neighbour for[ his] good to edification.For even Christ pleased not himself; but, as it is written, The reproaches of them that reproached thee fell on me.

Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, and against the man[ that is] my fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones.

[ It is] good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor[ any thing] whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:[ it is] hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
