這時聚集的人越來越多，耶穌說：「這是一個邪惡的世代，人們只想看神蹟，但除了約拿的神蹟以外，再沒有神蹟給他們看。正如約拿成了尼尼微人的神蹟，人子也要成為這世代的神蹟。

耶穌回答說：「一個邪惡淫亂的世代想看神蹟，可是除了約拿先知的神蹟以外，再沒有神蹟給他們看。約拿在大魚腹中三日三夜，人子也要在地裡三日三夜。

耶和華安排了一條大魚，把約拿吞下，他在魚腹裡度過三天三夜。

「在這淫亂、罪惡的世代，如果有人以我和我的道為恥，人子在父的榮耀中與聖天使再來的時候，也要以他為恥。」

他們請耶穌離開他們的地方。耶穌上了船準備離開的時候，那被鬼附過的人懇求耶穌讓他隨行。

你們縱然把孩子養大，我也要奪去他們的性命，一個也不留。我撇棄你們的時候，你們就有禍了！

耶穌深深歎息道：「這世代的人為什麼總是要看神蹟呢？我實在告訴你們，沒有神蹟給這世代的人看。」

隨便他們吧！他們是瞎眼的嚮導。瞎子給瞎子領路，二人都會掉進坑裡。」

以法蓮與偶像為伍，任由他吧！

可是，猶太人反對、毀謗保羅。保羅便抖掉衣服上的灰塵，對他們說：「你們的罪都歸在你們自己頭上，與我無關！從今以後，我要去外族人那裡了。」

耶和華說：「人既然是血肉之軀，我的靈不會永遠住在人的裡面，然而人還可以活一百二十年。」

然後，彼得還講了許多話警戒、勸勉他們，說：「你們要保守自己脫離這邪惡的世代。」
