蓋欲救其生者、將喪之、為我而喪其生者、將得之、

凡欲救其生命者、反喪之、為我而喪其生命者、反得之、

凡惜其生者、失之；惟為予而捨其生者、得之；

惟諸兄弟不貪生而冒死、故賴羔流血、以所傳之道勝敵、

凡欲救生命者、反喪之、為我及福音而喪生命者、必救之、

惜生命者、反喪之、不惜生命於此世者、保之至永生、

惟聖神每邑示我有械繫患難俟我也、然我不以為意、不貴生命、但忻然馳驟、以盡我程、並主耶穌所授之職、以上帝恩寵福音示人、

欲救生命者、反喪之、喪之者、反存之、

今爾居尊位、意者將使爾保全我族、未可知也、如爾竟無一言、必有他人援手、恐爾與全家、卒見剿滅耳。

當集書山猶大人、緣我禁食三晝夜、我與侍女亦將禁食、然後入宮覲王、雖違例而亡、亦弗顧也。
