乃諭諸徒曰：『人欲從予、必須克己、負其十字架、而追隨予後。

Then Jesus said to his disciples,“ Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

耶穌顧而愛之曰、猶虧一、往售所有以濟貧、則必有財於天、且來負十字架而從我、

亦謂眾曰、欲為吾徒、則當克己、日負十字架以從、凡欲救其生命者、反喪之、為我而喪生命者、必救之、利盡天下、而自喪亡者、何益之有、凡恥我及我道者、人子以己與父、及聖使之榮臨時、亦必恥其人、我誠告爾、立於此者有人、未死之先、克見上帝國、○

凡宗基督耶穌、致志於敬虔者、必受窘逐、

遂呼眾與門徒、曰、欲為我徒、則當克己、負十字架以從、

摩西長而有信不欲稱為法老女義子、願與上帝民、共受艱辛、不敢暫享淫樂、自謂為基督受詬誶、較埃及獲利倍蓰、望賞賚故也、

緣爾受苦、反以為喜、會為基督身、我欲益會、故我為基督而當受之難、無不盡受、

堅門徒心、勸之恆信、又言我儕欲入上帝國、必歷多難、

耶穌負十字架出、至一所、名髑髏處、希伯來語曰各各他、

勿為患難所動、爾知分定故也、
