Once when Jesus was praying by himself, and his disciples were nearby, he asked them,“ Who do the crowds say that I am?”They answered,“ John the Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others that one of the prophets of long ago has risen.”Then he said to them,“ But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered,“ The Christ of God.”

Then Jesus and his disciples went to the villages of Caesarea Philippi. On the way he asked his disciples,“ Who do people say that I am?”They said,“ John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and still others, one of the prophets.”He asked them,“ But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered him,“ You are the Christ.”

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”– then he said to the paralytic–“ Stand up, take your stretcher, and go home.”

He continued,“ I tell all of you the solemn truth– you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven, either in this age or in the age to come.

“ When the Son of Man comes in his glory and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.

Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

and he has granted the Son authority to execute judgment, because he is the Son of Man.

He answered,“ The one who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.

For just as Jonah was in the belly of the huge fish for three days and three nights, so the Son of Man will be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather from his kingdom everything that causes sin as well as all lawbreakers.

Jesus said to him,“ Foxes have dens, and the birds in the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”

After going out from there, Jesus went to the region of Tyre and Sidon.

“ Look!” he said.“ I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!”

I was watching in the night visions,“ And with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man was approaching. He went up to the Ancient of Days and was escorted before him.

For if anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”

For the Son of Man is lord of the Sabbath.”

with respect to Jesus from Nazareth, that God anointed him with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went around doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, because God was with him.

Then the crowd responded,“ We have heard from the law that the Christ will remain forever. How can you say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death( that is, the devil),and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.For surely his concern is not for angels, but he is concerned for Abraham’s descendants.Therefore he had to be made like his brothers and sisters in every respect, so that he could become a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to God, to make atonement for the sins of the people.For since he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are tempted.
