Jesus went out, along with His disciples, to the villages of Caesarea Philippi; and on the way He questioned His disciples, saying to them,“ Who do people say that I am?”They told Him, saying,“ John the Baptist; and others say Elijah; and others, one of the prophets.”And He continued questioning them:“ But who do you say that I am?” Peter answered and* said to Him,“ You are the Christ.”

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”

But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”— then He* said to the paralyzed man,“ Get up, pick up your stretcher and go home.”

And He* said to him,“ Truly, truly, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

And whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.

“ But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.

And just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

and He gave Him authority to execute judgment, because He is the Son of Man.

And He said,“ The one who sows the good seed is the Son of Man,

for just as Jonah was in the stomach of the sea monster for three days and three nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights.

The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all stumbling blocks, and those who commit lawlessness,

And Jesus* said to him,“ The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.”

Jesus went away from there, and withdrew into the region of Tyre and Sidon.

and he said,“ Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.”

“ I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a son of man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him.

For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.”

For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

The crowd then answered Him,“ We have heard from the Law that the Christ is to remain forever; and how is it that You say,‘ The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, so that through death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,and free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.For clearly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendants of Abraham.Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brothers so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.
