事后，耶稣渡过加利利湖，就是提比哩亚海。

耶稣沿着加利利湖边行走的时候，看见被称为彼得的西门和安得烈两兄弟正在撒网打鱼，他们是渔夫。

耶稣看见这些人群，就上了山，刚坐下，门徒便走到祂跟前，

但那些受过痛苦的人必不再遇见黑暗。从前，耶和华使西布伦人和拿弗他利人住的地方受人藐视，日后必使这些地方，即约旦河对岸、沿海一带、外族人居住的加利利得到荣耀。

后来，耶稣在提比哩亚海边又向门徒显现。当时的情形是这样：

一天，耶稣站在革尼撒勒湖边，众人团团围着祂，要听上帝的道。

耶稣离开那里，来到加利利湖边，上了山，在那里坐下。大群的人把瘸子、瞎子、残疾的、哑巴及许多别的病人带来，放在祂脚前，祂就治好了他们。大家看见哑巴说话，残疾的复原，瘸子走路，瞎子看见，都很惊奇，就赞美以色列的上帝。

耶稣离开泰尔地区，经过西顿，来到低加坡里地区的加利利湖。有人带着一个又聋又哑的人来见耶稣，恳求祂把手按在这个人身上。耶稣就带他离开众人走到一边，用指头伸进他的耳朵，又吐唾沫抹他的舌头，望天长叹，对他说：“以法大！”意思是“开了吧！”他的耳朵立刻开了，舌头灵活了，说话也清楚了。耶稣吩咐他们不要将这事告诉人。可是耶稣越是这样吩咐，他们越是极力宣扬，听见的人都十分惊奇，说：“祂做的事好极了，甚至叫聋子听见，哑巴说话！”

有一大群人聚集到祂周围，祂只好上船坐下，众人都站在岸上。

他的领土还包括约旦河谷东部：从加利利海至亚拉巴海，也就是盐海，到伯·耶西末，直到毗斯迦的山麓。

后来有几条从提比哩亚来的小船停泊在岸边，靠近主祝谢后让众人吃饼的地方。
