And the tongue is a fire! The tongue represents the world of wrongdoing among the parts of our bodies. It pollutes the entire body and sets fire to the course of human existence– and is set on fire by hell.For every kind of animal, bird, reptile, and sea creature is subdued and has been subdued by humankind.But no human being can subdue the tongue; it is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.With it we bless the Lord and Father, and with it we curse people made in God’s image.From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. These things should not be so, my brothers and sisters.

The tongue of the wise treats knowledge correctly, but the mouth of the fool spouts out folly.

The lips of the righteous know what is pleasing, but the speech of the wicked is perverse.

It’s like the old proverb says:‘ From evil people evil proceeds.’ But my hand will not be against you.

A worthless and wicked person walks around saying perverse things;

The words he speaks are sinful and deceitful; he does not care about doing what is wise and right.

The king said to him,‘ I will judge you by your own words, you wicked slave! So you knew, did you, that I was a severe man, withdrawing what I didn’t deposit and reaping what I didn’t sow?

The beast was given a mouth speaking proud words and blasphemies, and he was permitted to exercise ruling authority for forty- two months.So the beast opened his mouth to blaspheme against God– to blaspheme both his name and his dwelling place, that is, those who dwell in heaven.
