One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God.

The people recognized Jesus at once,and they ran throughout the whole area, carrying sick people on mats to wherever they heard he was.Wherever he went— in villages, cities, or the countryside— they brought the sick out to the marketplaces. They begged him to let the sick touch at least the fringe of his robe, and all who touched him were healed.

So when the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went across to Capernaum to look for him.They found him on the other side of the lake and asked,“ Rabbi, when did you get here?”
