Others are those who are sown among the thorns. These are those who have heard the word,and the cares of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

For Yahweh says to the men of Judah and to Jerusalem,“ Break up your fallow ground, and don’t sow among thorns.Circumcise yourselves to Yahweh, and take away the foreskins of your heart, you men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go out like fire, and burn so that no one can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

What was sown among the thorns, this is he who hears the word, but the cares of this age and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful.

It will yield thorns and thistles to you; and you will eat the herb of the field.
