凡對予廓然不疑者、福哉斯人！』

既抵加利利、加利利人欣然納之、因彼等曩在耶路撒冷度節時、曾親見耶穌所行之事蹟也。

既又曰：『予誠語爾、先知未有見容於故土者也。

門徒聞之、多曰『此語亦已甚矣！其誰能聽之？』

爾等頑固強項、何曾心領割禮、而信奉教義。居常拂逆聖神、與爾列祖行同一轍。先知孰不為爾祖所凌辱乎？先知豫報聖者之來而爾祖殺之；今聖者已至、而爾曹又鬻而殺之矣！

而吾人所傳揚者、乃一被釘於十字架之基督耳。此於猶太人為躓石、於異邦人為愚妄；而於蒙召之人、無論其國籍之為猶太或希臘、則為天主之德能與神慧也。蓋天主之愚、猶智於世人之智；而天主之柔、猶剛於世人之剛耳。願吾兄弟一思其聖召之所在。爾中鮮有世俗之所謂哲人、亦鮮有強有力者、與出身於貴族之人、雖然、世俗所視為愚者、天主則簡拔之、以愧眾哲；世俗所視為弱者、天主則簡拔之、以勝強有力者；世俗所認為卑卑不足道而視若無物者、天主則簡拔之、以毀滅有名無實之徒；

凡不予疑怪者、福哉斯人！』

曰：『此非若瑟之子耶穌乎？厥父若母、非吾人所素識乎？而彼竟自謂降自天上何也？』

西默翁祝之、謂聖母曰：『此子之誕生、義塞眾人之禍福興亡繫焉。斯天下之正鵠、而又眾矢之的也。將有利刃刺透爾之心魂；而眾心之向背、亦將因是而昭然若揭矣。』

又謂義塞人曰：「天主將於爾兄弟中、立一先知、正如立我者、」即此摩西也。昔於曠野集會之中、往來於天神與吾列祖之間、天神與語於西乃山、領受生命之道、而傳之吾人者、即此摩西也。詎知我列祖非惟不願聽從、反加以背棄、而其心且戀念埃及不置。

摩西有言、「上主必自爾中、立一先知、正如立吾；凡彼所示、爾當信從不信、則必滅自人群也。」

耶穌聲名洋溢、希祿聞人言具此異能、必施洗如望復活矣。

彼非梓人乎？又非瑪莉雅之子、雅谷伯若瑟樹德西門之兄弟乎？其姊若妹、非吾人之鄰居乎？』遂鄙而棄之。
