曰：『此非若瑟之子耶穌乎？厥父若母、非吾人所素識乎？而彼竟自謂降自天上何也？』

耶穌開始傳道時、年甫三十許；人以其為若瑟之子也。若瑟乃赫理之子、

彼非梓人乎？又非瑪莉雅之子、雅谷伯若瑟樹德西門之兄弟乎？其姊若妹、非吾人之鄰居乎？』遂鄙而棄之。

其他宗徒、自主之表弟雅各伯而外悉未之見。

與厥配瑪莉雅偕往登籍。時聖母已有身、會分娩期至、乃產元胎子、襁褓置馬槽中；以館舍旅客已滿、無處能容也。

按向諸宗徒作是報者、有瑪達蘭之瑪麗、若翰納、雅谷伯之母馬利亞、尚有與若輩相伴之諸婦。

侍於耶穌架旁者、有聖母、暨聖母之妹、格老法之妻瑪利亞、與瑪達蘭之瑪麗。

又有數婦、從遠望之、內有瑪達蘭之瑪麗、雅谷伯與若西之母瑪利亞、及沙羅梅、

朝報已字大維宗人若瑟之童貞瑪莉雅。

但聞籲主而見拯兮。焉有倚主而蒙羞。

內有瑪達蘭之瑪麗、雅谷伯若瑟之母瑪利亞、及慈伯德二子之母。

眾皆領教、且歎佩其口中所發之仁言、咸相謂曰：『此非若瑟之子耶？』

吾知天主曾與摩西語矣；若夫斯人、吾實不知其所自？』

耶穌方訓眾、其母與兄弟竚立於外、欲與之語。或報耶穌曰：『汝母及兄弟在外欲與汝語。』耶穌應之曰：『孰為我母、孰為我兄弟？』

瑪達蘭之瑪麗與若西之母瑪利亞、均審視其所葬之地。禮日既終、瑪達蘭之瑪麗、偕雅谷伯之母瑪利亞、及沙羅梅、市香科、欲往傅耶穌遺體。

斐理伯遇納大那、告之曰：『摩西書及諸先知所預言者、我儕今已遇之、即若瑟之子、納匝勒人耶穌是已。』納大那曰：『納匝勒焉有良產？』斐理伯曰：『盍來一觀。』

或曰：『斯乃基督！』或曰：『基督豈能出於加利利乎？經不云：「基督出於大維之裔、而來自大維故鄉百利恆」乎？』

基督之誕生、其事如次：母氏瑪莉雅、既字若瑟、未同室、感聖神而懷孕。其夫若瑟、仁者也；不忍明以辱之、將欲私與之休。方思維其事、而上主天神見於夢曰：『大維子若瑟、毋以納瑪莉雅為慮；渠所孕者、實自聖神、
