Coming to his hometown, he began teaching the people in their synagogue, and they were amazed.“ Where did this man get this wisdom and these miraculous powers?” they asked.

He came to his hometown of Nazareth. There he began teaching the people in their synagogue. They were amazed.“ Where did this man get this wisdom? Where did he get this power to do miracles?” they asked.

and coming to his hometown he taught them in their synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said,“ Where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works?

He returned to Nazareth, his hometown. When he taught there in the synagogue, everyone was amazed and said,“ Where does he get this wisdom and the power to do miracles?”

And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished, and said, Whence hath this[ man] this wisdom, and[ these] mighty works?

Then he came to his hometown and began to teach the people in their synagogue. They were astonished and said,“ Where did this man get such wisdom and miraculous powers?

猶太人異曰：『斯人未學、何由知書？』耶穌曰：『吾道非出於己、乃出於遣予者也。

耶穌講道既畢、眾皆驚服；蓋其所訓、若自具權能者、非尋常經師所得同日而語也。

耶穌辭出、返鄉、門徒從。禮日、施訓會堂中、聞者異曰：『彼何由而得此？其所賦智慧、所行事蹟、何若是其異乎尋常耶？彼非梓人乎？又非瑪莉雅之子、雅谷伯若瑟樹德西門之兄弟乎？其姊若妹、非吾人之鄰居乎？』遂鄙而棄之。耶穌曰：『先知必見尊於世、其不尊者、惟在家鄉親族之間。』因是不能暢行靈蹟、惟按手治愈若干病者而已。歎鄉人之狐疑不信也、乃周行鄰村而施訓。

耶穌徧遊加利利、施訓會堂中、講天國福音、治民間諸疾；

降蒞領域。見拒屬民。

旋至納匝勒、其長育地也。禮日、循例入會堂、起誦、或以先知意灑雅書授之、展卷則見紀云：上主之神、臨我之身；恩膏沐首、大命是膺。天主遣我、所為何因：窮苦無告、得聆福音；俘囚獲釋、瞽者復明；困者以解、屈者以伸；揭布上主、開恩之春。耶穌揜卷授之侍者、復坐、會堂中人皆注目視之、耶穌乃徐以語之曰：『此經已於爾親聆之下見驗於斯日矣。』眾皆領教、且歎佩其口中所發之仁言、咸相謂曰：『此非若瑟之子耶？』耶穌曰：『爾等必引諺以責予曰：「為醫者、盍先自醫；吾聞汝在葛法農多行奇迹、亦宜行之於故鄉也。」』既又曰：『予誠語爾、先知未有見容於故土者也。予實告爾、伊理藹時、天閉三載有半、遍地大飢、義塞國中固多嫠婦、而伊理藹未曾奉命往視一婦、獨往視西同沙萊達之一嫠、先知伊理叟時、義塞國中固多患痲瘋者、無有獲潔、有之惟西陸人南曼。』在堂之眾、聞言怒甚、群起而逐之城外。城固築於山上、眾因曳至崖巔欲推之崖下；耶穌逕出人叢、脫身而去、

抵納匝勒城、遂寓焉。是亦所以應先知所言彼將稱為納匝勒人云耳。

越三日、葆樂邀集猶太人之首領既至、語之曰：『諸兄弟、予並未開罪於本國同胞、或違犯祖宗遺規、然竟在耶路撒冷縛解羅馬人之手、經羅馬人審問、以予未犯死罪意欲將予開釋。而為猶太人所拒、故予不得已而上訴於凱撒、但非欲對吾本國同胞有所控訴也。以是予邀汝等相見、與汝等言蓋予之所以鎯鐺被身者、乃為義塞人所共望之事耳。』眾曰：『吾儕未接猶太書述及爾事、亦無同胞來此道爾不法者；但吾儕願一聆教言、以吾所聞今之新教、固無在而不受非議也。』彼等既與葆樂約期、即有多人來其寓所、葆樂自朝至暮向彼等證明天國之道、關於耶穌之事、引徵摩西之律與先知書、以詳說之。彼之所說、有信者、有不信者；彼等所見未能一致、遂散。然其未散之前、葆樂曾為一言曰：『善夫聖神藉先知意灑雅向我祖之所言也！其言曰：「往告斯民曰、爾聽而不悟、視而不見；蓋斯民之心、已冥頑不靈、厥耳不聰、厥目不明、一若惟恐其目之有見、耳之有聞、心之有悟、幡然回頭而蒙救於予也！」故汝等當知天主已將此救恩傳諸異邦人、彼等且必聽信。』

出我於獅口兮。拯我於兕角。

藏我腔子裏。亦欲向大會。宣布爾佳音。諄諄何曾倦。惟主知我心。

眾見伯鐸祿若望侃侃而談、且識其為不學小民、素樸之人、皆不勝驚訝、意必曾親炙耶穌者、

葆樂、巴拿巴坦然答曰：『天主之道、本當先傳於爾；爾既棄之、而自絕於永生之道、吾乃轉傳於異邦。
