基督者、一切智慧之淵府也。

及摩西長成憑信德、而毅然拒絕法老外孫之名稱；寧願與天主之民同受困苦、不願於須臾之間與罪人同享逸樂。在摩西之心目中、基督之垢辱、實富於埃及之寶庫也。何則、其所見者大。其所望者遠也。

然昔以為得、今以為失：無他、為基督之故也。以予視之、一切莫非失也；惟認識吾主基督耶穌之為得耳。因此予已犧牲一切、而視之如糟粕、一心惟望贏得基督、而與之合為一體。蓋予自身了無仁義、律法亦不足為恃、惟天主為仁義之泉源、而所以致之者、則惟信仰基督而已矣。

是故爾中不拘誰何、苟不願犧牲一切、終不克為吾徒也。

蓋寶之所在、心之所存也。

其人聞言、不勝戚戚、固擁有巨貲者也。耶穌見其狀、而告眾曰：『難矣哉！富人之進天主國也。

且無論何人、因我之名、而捨其第宅、兄弟、姊妹、父母、子女、或田地者、必得收獲百倍、並承永生。

伯鐸祿應曰：『吾儕則已捨棄一切、以從子矣。將何所獲乎？』

吾勸爾向我購置百煉之金、俾成真富；純白之衣、用掩爾羞；傅目之膏、以啟爾視。

然經有之：『天主為孝愛者所豫備諸事、實有目所未睹、耳所未聞、人心之所意想不到者焉。』惟吾人則知之、因天主恆以聖神啟迪吾衷也。聖神洞徹萬事、即天主之堂奧亦無所不窺。

耶穌曰：『欲為完人、往售所有、施於貧人、積寶於天、再來從我。』

信者咸集、物盡歸公、各鬻其產、視人所需而供之。眾既一德一心、日日在殿、居恆析餅以食、亦無不怡然自樂。心悅誠服、頌讚天主、深得民歡、主復日以獲救者充實其群。

耶穌復喻曰：『天國猶人播佳種於田、

石開即下、欣然迎之。眾見而非議曰：『彼竟投宿罪人家耶！』石開恭立而白主曰：『主、願以家貲之半、施濟貧人、如有詐取於人者、願四倍以償。』

蓋爾已死；爾之生命、與基督同匿於天主懷中。基督乃吾人之真生命、一俟基督之顯、爾將與之同顯於光榮之中。

爾等不惟體恤囹圄中人、即自己產業之被劫奪、亦能逆來順受、且欣然自樂、固知另有盡善盡美、可大可久之嗣業在也。

信者一德一心、未嘗私其所有、而不公諸同享者。宗徒復藉神力證主耶穌之復活、而眾亦廣沐洪恩、不虞匱乏；蓋有田宅者、無不鬻之、以金授之宗徒、視人之需而分配焉。

凡經所載、皆以訓我、欲使我因研經而習忍耐、而得安慰、而修望德。

耶穌曰：『予即生命之糧；歸予者不復有飢、信予者不復有渴。

俾基督之道、寓爾五內、使之發榮滋長、蔚為眾慧。以聖詠、聖詩、聖歌、相互淬勵切磋、心歌腹咏、同聲頌美天主。
