彼得對耶穌說：「請將這比喻講給我們聽。」耶穌說：「你們到如今還不明白嗎？

有幾個門徒就彼此說：「他對我們說：『等不多時，你們就不得見我；再等不多時，你們還要見我』；又說：『因我往父那裏去。』這是甚麼意思呢？」門徒彼此說：「他說『等不多時』到底是甚麼意思呢？我們不明白他所說的話。」耶穌看出他們要問他，就說：「我說『等不多時，你們就不得見我；再等不多時，你們還要見我』，你們為這話彼此相問嗎？我實實在在地告訴你們，你們將要痛哭、哀號，世人倒要喜樂；你們將要憂愁，然而你們的憂愁要變為喜樂。

耶穌回答說：「因為天國的奧祕只叫你們知道，不叫他們知道。

耶穌進了房子，瞎子就來到他跟前。耶穌說：「你們信我能做這事嗎？」他們說：「主啊，我們信。」

耶穌離開眾人，進了屋子，門徒就問他這比喻的意思。

耶穌隨即催門徒上船，先渡到那邊去，等他叫眾人散開。

耶穌叫眾人散去，就上船，來到馬加丹的境界。

若不用比喻，就不對他們講；沒有人的時候，就把一切的道講給門徒聽。
