此亦所以應驗先知之言曰：『啟口設諭發古之蘊。』

So was fulfilled what was spoken through the prophet:“ I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the creation of the world.”

So the words spoken by the prophet came true. He had said,“ I will open my mouth and tell stories. I will speak about things that were hidden since the world was made.”( Psalm 78:2)

This was to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet:“ I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter what has been hidden since the foundation of the world.”

This fulfilled what God had spoken through the prophet:“ I will speak to you in parables. I will explain things hidden since the creation of the world.”

so that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled: I will open my mouth in parables; I will declare things kept secret from the foundation of the world.

This was so that what was spoken through the prophet would be fulfilled:“ I will open My mouth in parables; I will proclaim things hidden since the foundation of the world.”

that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying:“ I will open My mouth in parables; I will utter things kept secret from the foundation of the world.”

啟脣設譬。發古之蘊。

使舉世之人、咸得領會造物主自始隱藏之救世玄謨。

吾人所傳者、乃玄妙幽微之智慧、即天主在有世以前留為吾人誇耀之智慧也。

惟天主能堅定爾等信心、使爾等與我所傳之福音及耶穌基督之聖道中、能確立不搖。斯道也、即有世以來所蘊藏之玄妙、今則據先知之書、按天主之聖謨、而揭曉啟示、宣揚於天下萬民令其翕然歸於一信；

其受命誠在無始之始、其顯現則在茲末世。凡此皆為爾等之益也。爾等之得信奉天主、實賴基督之德、而天主者、則起基督於死者之中、而鍚以光榮者也。是故爾宜堅守信德、一心仰望天主。

父乎！願父所賜於予之人、皆得詣予所在、而親睹父所賜予之榮、蓋自創世之前、父已愛予矣。

至是王將謂右者曰：「爾等見寵於吾父者、自創世以來為爾所備之國、胥來承嗣。

自有世以來、斯玄妙之旨、未曾啟迪於人。今則已因聖神而明示其諸聖宗徒、及先知先覺之人矣。

是實天主所托於我、對爾等應盡之本分、亦所以發揚天主之道也。斯道無他、即天主自始所蘊藏之玄妙、至今始顯示於諸聖、

此聖教乃建立於永生期望之上、而永生乃真實無妄之天主所許於萬古之前、及時昭著、而發為福音者也。予奉天主救主之命、而得以福音為己任焉。

凡厥名自創世以來未錄於被宰羔羊之生命冊者、咸將翕然、景仰此獸。

意灑雅之預言、實應於若輩之身矣。其言曰：

夫天主之救拔吾人、而授吾人以聖召者、初不憑吾人之功績、乃憑其自己之聖意、與夫在基督耶穌身上、夙所賜於吾人之聖寵也。蓋此聖寵之授予、實在萬世以前；顧其昭著、則有待乎我恩主耶穌基督之降生耳。今彼已將死亡置於死地、且藉福音之道、已將永生與不朽布之於世，昭然若揭矣。

吾言具眞慧。平生涵玄默。

蓋基督神靈、啟迪先知之衷、故彼等能逆知基督之先苦後樂、與夫其事之成於何時何世。彼等且逆知其所預言諸事、非為本身、乃為爾等。凡此奧義、即眾天神亦渴欲一窺、而爾曹則因布道者憑天主所遣聖神之靈感、而得諦聽矣

故審判時、諦羅西同之刑較爾猶易受也。

爾適所見之獸、一現即逝、又將起自深淵、終必淪胥以亡。舉世之人、凡其名自創世以來、未見錄於生命冊者、以其獸之一現即逝、而復勃興。咸將見而歎服。

此亦所以應驗先知之言曰：『睹哉西溫女、爾王來就汝。溫恭騎驢背、有𩦺與之俱。』

粵若稽古、天主迭假先知之口、多方曉諭列祖；

誰作斯語經綸主、真宰夙知今所為。
