He told them another parable:“ The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his field.

耶穌繼續說：「上帝的國好像什麼呢？我該把上帝的國比作什麼呢？上帝的國就像一粒芥菜種，有人把它種在園裡，它長成了一棵樹，連飛鳥也來棲息在它的樹枝上。」

耶穌說：「我們拿什麼比作上帝的國呢？用什麼比喻來解釋呢？上帝的國就像一粒芥菜種。它是種子中最小的，但種在地裡，卻能長得比各樣蔬菜都大，有粗大的枝條，可以讓飛鳥在它的樹蔭中築巢。」

耶穌說：「你們的信心太小了。我實在告訴你們，你們若有像芥菜種那樣大的信心，就算叫這座山從這裡移到那裡，它也會移開，你們將沒有辦不到的事。

耶穌又給他們講了一個比喻，說：「天國就像一個人，將好種子撒在田裡。

主說：「如果你們的信心像一粒芥菜種那麼大，便可對這棵桑樹說，『連根拔起，栽在大海裡！』它必服從你們。

接著耶穌對眾人講了個比喻：「有人開墾了一個葡萄園，把園子租給幾個佃戶，就出遠門了。

眾人在聽的時候，耶穌又為他們講了一個比喻，因為祂快到耶路撒冷了，人們以為上帝的國馬上就要降臨了。
