This is why I speak to them in parables:“ Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.

Here is why I use stories when I speak to the people. I say,“ They look, but they don’t really see. They listen, but they don’t really hear or understand.

This is why I speak to them in parables, because seeing they do not see, and hearing they do not hear, nor do they understand.

That is why I use these parables, For they look, but they don’t really see. They hear, but they don’t really listen or understand.

『人子啊，你住在叛逆之家中間；他們有眼睛可以看，卻不看，有耳朵可以聽，卻不聽，因為他們是叛逆之家。

『愚昧而無心思的人民哪，有眼不能看、有耳不能聽的啊，你們要聽這話。

但我們的福音、就說是蒙着帕子罷、也是在滅亡着的人蒙着的。在他們、今世的神已把不信之人的心意弄瞎了，以致基督（上帝的像）榮耀之福音之光照不能發曉於他們心裏。

他們不知道，也不明白，因為他們的眼被塗抹了，以致不能看見，他們的心蒙蔽了，以致不能了解。

光到了世界上來，人愛黑暗、而不愛光，因為他們的行為邪惡：這就是被定罪的因由。凡作壞事的都恨光，不來就光，恐怕他的行為被訐發；

耶穌說：『為了審判、我才到這世界上來，使看不見的能看見，而能看見的反而成了瞎眼！』同耶穌在那裏的法利賽人、有的聽見了這些話，就對耶穌說：『難道連我們也瞎了眼麼？』耶穌對他們說：『你們如果瞎了眼，就沒有罪了；但如今你們說「我們能看見」；那你們的罪就還存在着。

就是你親眼見過的大試驗、和神迹、跟那些大奇事；但是到今日永恆主還沒有給你們能明白的心、能看見的眼、能聽見的耳。

耳聾的啊，聽吧！眼瞎的啊，看吧，好看得見。誰比我的僕人眼瞎呢？誰比我的使者、我所差遣的、耳聾呢？誰耳聾像那奉獻於我的呢？誰眼瞎像永恆主的僕人呢？你們看見許多事卻不領會；耳朵開着，卻不聽見。

但是你們的眼有福啊，因為它們看得見；你們的耳有福啊，因為它們聽得着。

耶穌覺得了，便對他們說：『為甚麼議論你們沒有餅的事呢？你們還不了解，不曉悟麼？還存着你們那愚頑的心麼？你們有眼看不見麼？有耳聽不見麼？也不記得麼？
