Then some of the Pharisees and teachers of the law said to him,“ Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”

Some of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law came to Jesus. They said,“ Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees answered him, saying,“ Teacher, we wish to see a sign from you.”

One day some teachers of religious law and Pharisees came to Jesus and said,“ Teacher, we want you to show us a miraculous sign to prove your authority.”

Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to him,“ Teacher, we want to see a sign from you.”

猶太人要求神蹟，希臘人尋找智慧，

猶太人就問他：“你可以顯甚麼神蹟給我們看，證明你有權作這些事呢？”

法利賽人出來，跟耶穌辯論；他們想試探他，求他顯個從天上來的神蹟。耶穌靈裡深深地歎息，說：“這世代為甚麼總是尋求神蹟？我實在告訴你們，決不會有神蹟顯給這個世代的！”

又有人試探他，向他求一個從天上來的神蹟。

眾人聚集的時候，耶穌就說：“這世代是個邪惡的世代。這世代尋求神蹟，可是除了約拿的神蹟以外，再沒有神蹟給他們了。

於是他們就說：“你要行甚麼神蹟，讓我們看了就信你呢？你到底能作甚麼呢？

耶穌對他說：“你們若看不見神蹟奇事，總是不肯信。”

法利賽人和撒都該人前來試探耶穌，求他顯個從天上來的神蹟給他們看。耶穌回答：“黃昏的時候，你們說：‘天色通紅，明天一定是晴天。’早上的時候，你們說：‘天色又紅又暗，今天一定有風雨。’你們知道分辨天色，卻不能分辨時代的徵兆嗎？邪惡和淫亂的世代要尋求神蹟，除了約拿的神蹟之外，不會有甚麼神蹟給它了。”耶穌就離開他們走了。
