A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

義人的心，思索怎樣回應；惡人的口，吐出惡言。

話說得合宜，就如金蘋果鑲在銀器上。在聽從者的耳中，智慧的責備就如金環和黃金飾品。

使人痊癒的舌頭，就是生命樹；奸惡的舌頭，使心靈破碎。

義人的舌頭，像精選的銀子；惡人的心思，所值無幾。義人的嘴唇能牧養許多人，愚妄人卻因缺乏心智而死亡。

你們要讓基督的話語豐豐富富地住在你們裡面，要用一切的智慧彼此教導、勸誡，懷著感恩的心，以詩篇、聖詩、屬靈的詩歌來歌頌神。

心裡有智慧的，被稱為有悟性的人；嘴唇的甘甜，使人增添學問。見識是有見識者的生命泉源，愚妄是對愚妄人的懲罰。智慧人的心使他的口通達，也使他的嘴唇增添學問。

義人的口，述說智慧；他的舌頭，講說公正。神的律法在他心裡，他的步履不會搖擺。

口善應對，人有喜樂；話合其時，多麼美好！

耶穌對他們說：「為此，凡是成為天國門徒的經文士，就好比一家的主人，從他的寶庫裡拿出新的和舊的東西來。」

你們這些毒蛇的子孫！你們做為惡人，怎麼能說出善的來呢？因為心裡所充滿的，口裡就說出來。

惡人的話語，埋伏著要殺人流血；正直人的口，將解救自己。

說真話的，顯出公義；作假見證的，顯出詭詐。有人輕率說話，如刀刺人；智慧人的話語，使人痊癒。誠實的嘴唇，永遠存留；撒謊的舌頭，轉瞬即逝。

任何壞話都不可出口，而是按著需要說造就人的好話，使聽的人得到益處。
