But when the Pharisees saw this they said to him,“ Look, your disciples are doing what is against the law to do on the Sabbath.”

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him,“ Look! Your disciples are doing what is unlawful on the Sabbath.”

The Pharisees saw this. They said to Jesus,“ Look! It is against the Law to do this on the Sabbath day. But your disciples are doing it anyway!”

But when the Pharisees saw it, they said to him,“ Look, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

But some Pharisees saw them do it and protested,“ Look, your disciples are breaking the law by harvesting grain on the Sabbath.”

When the Pharisees saw this, they said to him,“ See, your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”

Now when the Pharisees saw this, they said to Him,“ Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on a Sabbath!”

And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to Him,“ Look, Your disciples are doing what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath!”

But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which it is not lawful to do upon the sabbath.

A man was there who had a withered hand. And they asked Jesus,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?” so that they could accuse him.

Jesus replied,“ I performed one miracle and you are all amazed.However, because Moses gave you the practice of circumcision( not that it came from Moses, but from the forefathers), you circumcise a male child on the Sabbath.But if a male child is circumcised on the Sabbath so that the law of Moses is not broken, why are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?Do not judge according to external appearance, but judge with proper judgment.”

So Jesus asked the experts in religious law and the Pharisees,“ Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”

For six days you may labor and do all your work,but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God; on it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant, or your cattle, or the resident foreigner who is in your gates.For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth and the sea and all that is in them, and he rested on the seventh day; therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.

They watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they could accuse him.So he said to the man who had the withered hand,“ Stand up among all these people.”Then he said to them,“ Is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath, or evil, to save a life or destroy it?” But they were silent.After looking around at them in anger, grieved by the hardness of their hearts, he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” He stretched it out, and his hand was restored.

Then they returned and prepared aromatic spices and perfumes. On the Sabbath they rested according to the commandment.

Now because Jesus was doing these things on the Sabbath, the Jewish leaders began persecuting him.So he told them,“ My Father is working until now, and I too am working.”

Now he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath,and a woman was there who had been disabled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was bent over and could not straighten herself up completely.When Jesus saw her, he called her to him and said,“ Woman, you are freed from your infirmity.”Then he placed his hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and praised God.But the president of the synagogue, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the crowd,“ There are six days on which work should be done! So come and be healed on those days, and not on the Sabbath day.”Then the Lord answered him,“ You hypocrites! Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from its stall, and lead it to water?Then shouldn’t this woman, a daughter of Abraham whom Satan bound for eighteen long years, be released from this imprisonment on the Sabbath day?”When he said this all his adversaries were humiliated, but the entire crowd was rejoicing at all the wonderful things he was doing.

On another Sabbath, Jesus entered the synagogue and was teaching. Now a man was there whose right hand was withered.The experts in the law and the Pharisees watched Jesus closely to see if he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they could find a reason to accuse him.But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man who had the withered hand,“ Get up and stand here.” So he rose and stood there.Then Jesus said to them,“ I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the Sabbath or to do evil, to save a life or to destroy it?”After looking around at them all, he said to the man,“ Stretch out your hand.” The man did so, and his hand was restored.But they were filled with mindless rage and began debating with one another what they would do to Jesus.

In six days work may be done, but on the seventh day there must be a holy day for you, a Sabbath of complete rest to the LORD. Anyone who does work on it will be put to death.

( Now the day on which Jesus made the mud and caused him to see was a Sabbath.)So the Pharisees asked him again how he had gained his sight. He replied,“ He put mud on my eyes and I washed, and now I am able to see.”Then some of the Pharisees began to say,“ This man is not from God, because he does not observe the Sabbath.” But others said,“ How can a man who is a sinner perform such miraculous signs?” Thus there was a division among them.

Immediately the man was healed, and he picked up his mat and started walking.( Now that day was a Sabbath.)So the Jewish leaders said to the man who had been healed,“ It is the Sabbath, and you are not permitted to carry your mat.”But he answered them,“ The man who made me well said to me,‘ Pick up your mat and walk.’”

You must observe the Sabbath rather than doing anything you please on my holy day. You must look forward to the Sabbath and treat the LORD’s holy day with respect. You must treat it with respect by refraining from your normal activities, and by refraining from your selfish pursuits and from making business deals.

For six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you must cease, in order that your ox and your donkey may rest and that your female servant’s son and any hired help may refresh themselves.

Six days work may be done, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath of complete rest, holy to the LORD; anyone who does work on the Sabbath day must surely be put to death.The Israelites must keep the Sabbath by observing the Sabbath throughout their generations as a perpetual covenant.It is a sign between me and the Israelites forever; for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’”

When the Israelites were in the wilderness they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day.Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and to the whole community.They put him in custody, because there was no clear instruction about what should be done to him.Then the LORD said to Moses,“ The man must surely be put to death; the whole community must stone him with stones outside the camp.”So the whole community took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, just as the LORD commanded Moses.
