All of you, take up My yoke and learn from Me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for yourselves.

On the last and most important day of the festival, Jesus stood up and cried out,“ If anyone is thirsty, he should come to Me and drink!

Christ has liberated us to be free. Stand firm then and don’t submit again to a yoke of slavery.

Everyone the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never cast out.

“ Come, everyone who is thirsty, come to the waters; and you without money, come, buy, and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost!Why do you spend money on what is not food, and your wages on what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and you will enjoy the choicest of foods.Pay attention and come to Me; listen, so that you will live. I will make an everlasting covenant with you, the promises assured to David.

What should I bring before the Lord when I come to bow before God on high? Should I come before Him with burnt offerings, with year-old calves?Would the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams or with ten thousand streams of oil? Should I give my firstborn for my transgression, the child of my body for my own sin?Mankind, He has told you what is good and what it is the Lord requires of you: to act justly, to love faithfulness, and to walk humbly with your God.

Both the Spirit and the bride say,“ Come!” Anyone who hears should say,“ Come!” And the one who is thirsty should come. Whoever desires should take the living water as a gift.

My hand made all these things, and so they all came into being. This is the Lord’s declaration. I will look favorably on this kind of person: one who is humble, submissive in spirit, and trembles at My word.

This is what the Lord says: Stand by the roadways and look. Ask about the ancient paths: Which is the way to what is good? Then take it and find rest for yourselves. But they protested,“ We won’t!”

This is what the Lord, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel says: I am Yahweh your God, who teaches you for your benefit, who leads you in the way you should go.If only you had paid attention to My commands. Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.

Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth. For I am God, and there is no other.By Myself I have sworn; Truth has gone from My mouth, a word that will not be revoked: Every knee will bow to Me, every tongue will swear allegiance.It will be said to Me: Righteousness and strength is only in the Lord.” All who are enraged against Him will come to Him and be put to shame.All the descendants of Israel will be justified and find glory through the Lord.

They tie up heavy loads that are hard to carry and put them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves aren’t willing to lift a finger to move them.

Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you.

On that day the root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the peoples. The nations will seek Him, and His resting place will be glorious.

For my sins have flooded over my head; they are a burden too heavy for me to bear.

For what does a man get with all his work and all his efforts that he labors at under the sun?For all his days are filled with grief, and his occupation is sorrowful; even at night, his mind does not rest. This too is futile.

All things are wearisome; man is unable to speak. The eye is not satisfied by seeing or the ear filled with hearing.

He had said to them:“ This is the place of rest, let the weary rest; this is the place of repose.” But they would not listen.

He grew up before Him like a young plant and like a root out of dry ground. He didn’t have an impressive form or majesty that we should look at Him, no appearance that we should desire Him.He was despised and rejected by men, a man of suffering who knew what sickness was. He was like someone people turned away from; He was despised, and we didn’t value Him.

and to reward with rest you who are afflicted, along with us. This will take place at the revelation of the Lord Jesus from heaven with His powerful angels,

to provide for those who mourn in Zion; to give them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, festive oil instead of mourning, and splendid clothes instead of despair. And they will be called righteous trees, planted by the Lord to glorify Him.

For in my inner self I joyfully agree with God’s law.But I see a different law in the parts of my body, waging war against the law of my mind and taking me prisoner to the law of sin in the parts of my body.What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this dying body?I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, with my mind I myself am a slave to the law of God, but with my flesh, to the law of sin.

Therefore, while the promise to enter His rest remains, let us fear that none of you should miss it.

And He said to Adam,“ Because you listened to your wife’s voice and ate from the tree about which I commanded you,‘ Do not eat from it’: The ground is cursed because of you. You will eat from it by means of painful labor all the days of your life.It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field.You will eat bread by the sweat of your brow until you return to the ground, since you were taken from it. For you are dust, and you will return to dust.”

For we are consumed by Your anger; we are terrified by Your wrath.You have set our unjust ways before You, our secret sins in the light of Your presence.For all our days ebb away under Your wrath; we end our years like a sigh.Our lives last seventy years or, if we are strong, eighty years. Even the best of them are struggle and sorrow; indeed, they pass quickly and we fly away.

There is a person without a companion, without even a son or brother, and though there is no end to all his struggles, his eyes are still not content with riches.“ So who am I struggling for,” he asks,“ and depriving myself from good?” This too is futile and a miserable task.

Now then, why are you testing God by putting a yoke on the disciples’ necks that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear?

Oh sinful nation, people weighed down with iniquity, brood of evildoers, depraved children! They have abandoned the Lord; they have despised the Holy One of Israel; they have turned their backs on Him.

to give him relief from troubled times until a pit is dug for the wicked.

For day and night Your hand was heavy on me; my strength was drained as in the summer’s heat. Selah

I have seen all the things that are done under the sun and have found everything to be futile, a pursuit of the wind.

Man born of woman is short of days and full of trouble.

But mankind is born for trouble as surely as sparks fly upward.
