You are My friends if you do what I command you.

And He began teaching in their synagogues and was praised by all.And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.And the scroll of Isaiah the prophet was handed to Him. And He unrolled the scroll and found the place where it was written:“ The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He anointed Me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to captives, And recovery of sight to the blind, To set free those who are oppressed,To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.”And He rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down; and the eyes of all the people in the synagogue were intently directed at Him.Now He began to say to them,“ Today this Scripture has been fulfilled in your hearing.”

Soon afterward, Jesus began going around from one city and village to another, proclaiming and preaching the kingdom of God. The twelve were with Him,

For you know what instructions we gave you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.

If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love.

And He ordered us to preach to the people, and to testify solemnly that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead.

until the day when He was taken up to heaven, after He had given orders by the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen.

Now we command you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother or sister who leads a disorderly life and not one in accordance with the tradition which you received from us.

teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

that you keep the commandment without fault or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
