These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying:“ Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans.

These twelve Jesus sent out with the following instructions:“ Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans.

Then the woman of Samaria said to Him,“ How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews.But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

He sent them to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.

Then He said to me,‘ Depart, for I will send you far from here to the Gentiles.’”And they listened to him until this word, and then they raised their voices and said,“ Away with such a fellow from the earth, for he is not fit to live!”Then, as they cried out and tore off their clothes and threw dust into the air,

Now Saul was consenting to his death. At that time a great persecution arose against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except the apostles.

So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.

So Jesus said to them again,“ Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter answered,“ Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?”And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.Now the apostles and brethren who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him,saying,“ You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!”But Peter explained it to them in order from the beginning, saying:“ I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.When I observed it intently and considered, I saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.And I heard a voice saying to me,‘ Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’But I said,‘ Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’But the voice answered me again from heaven,‘ What God has cleansed you must not call common.’Now this was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.At that very moment, three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent to me from Caesarea.Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house.And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him,‘ Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter,who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.’And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said,‘ John indeed baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?”When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying,“ Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life.”

Now I say that Jesus Christ has become a servant to the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made to the fathers,and that the Gentiles might glorify God for His mercy, as it is written:“ For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, And sing to Your name.”

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Then the king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Cuthah, Ava, Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they took possession of Samaria and dwelt in its cities.And it was so, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they did not fear the Lord; therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which killed some of them.So they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying,“ The nations whom you have removed and placed in the cities of Samaria do not know the rituals of the God of the land; therefore He has sent lions among them, and indeed, they are killing them because they do not know the rituals of the God of the land.”Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying,“ Send there one of the priests whom you brought from there; let him go and dwell there, and let him teach them the rituals of the God of the land.”Then one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and dwelt in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear the Lord.However every nation continued to make gods of its own, and put them in the shrines on the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in the cities where they dwelt.The men of Babylon made Succoth Benoth, the men of Cuth made Nergal, the men of Hamath made Ashima,and the Avites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burned their children in fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.So they feared the Lord, and from every class they appointed for themselves priests of the high places, who sacrificed for them in the shrines of the high places.They feared the Lord, yet served their own gods— according to the rituals of the nations from among whom they were carried away.To this day they continue practicing the former rituals; they do not fear the Lord, nor do they follow their statutes or their ordinances, or the law and commandment which the Lord had commanded the children of Jacob, whom He named Israel,with whom the Lord had made a covenant and charged them, saying:“ You shall not fear other gods, nor bow down to them nor serve them nor sacrifice to them;but the Lord, who brought you up from the land of Egypt with great power and an outstretched arm, Him you shall fear, Him you shall worship, and to Him you shall offer sacrifice.And the statutes, the ordinances, the law, and the commandment which He wrote for you, you shall be careful to observe forever; you shall not fear other gods.And the covenant that I have made with you, you shall not forget, nor shall you fear other gods.But the Lord your God you shall fear; and He will deliver you from the hand of all your enemies.”However they did not obey, but they followed their former rituals.So these nations feared the Lord, yet served their carved images; also their children and their children’s children have continued doing as their fathers did, even to this day.

Then the Jews said among themselves,“ Where does He intend to go that we shall not find Him? Does He intend to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks?

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion.

Then the Jews answered and said to Him,“ Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?”

“ The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, By the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles:

Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

and sent messengers before His face. And as they went, they entered a village of the Samaritans, to prepare for Him.But they did not receive Him, because His face was set for the journey to Jerusalem.And when His disciples James and John saw this, they said,“ Lord, do You want us to command fire to come down from heaven and consume them, just as Elijah did?”

After these things the Lord appointed seventy others also, and sent them two by two before His face into every city and place where He Himself was about to go.

And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman who testified,“ He told me all that I ever did.”So when the Samaritans had come to Him, they urged Him to stay with them; and He stayed there two days.

and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a Samaritan.

and sent out his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding; and they were not willing to come.

forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they may be saved, so as always to fill up the measure of their sins; but wrath has come upon them to the uttermost.

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.For unclean spirits, crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were possessed; and many who were paralyzed and lame were healed.And there was great joy in that city.But there was a certain man called Simon, who previously practiced sorcery in the city and astonished the people of Samaria, claiming that he was someone great,to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying,“ This man is the great power of God.”And they heeded him because he had astonished them with his sorceries for a long time.But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.Then Simon himself also believed; and when he was baptized he continued with Philip, and was amazed, seeing the miracles and signs which were done.Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,who, when they had come down, prayed for them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.For as yet He had fallen upon none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.Then they laid hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money,saying,“ Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.”But Peter said to him,“ Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!You have neither part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the sight of God.Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.For I see that you are poisoned by bitterness and bound by iniquity.”Then Simon answered and said,“ Pray to the Lord for me, that none of the things which you have spoken may come upon me.”So when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, they returned to Jerusalem, preaching the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.
