第以杯水飲此小子之一、以其為吾徒也、我誠語汝、彼必不失其賞也、

此小子之一、因其為吾徒、第以杯水飲之者、我誠告爾、彼必不失賞也、

有人第以一杯水、飲此小子之一、因其為門徒、我誠告爾、此人必不失其賞矣、

若有因門徒名義、而予此中最小者以一勺之水、我確語爾、彼亦不失其報矣。』

And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

Suppose someone gives even a cup of cold water to a little one who follows me. What I’m about to tell you is true. That person will certainly be rewarded.”

And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”

And whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.”

And whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you he shall in no wise lose his reward.

And whoever gives just a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple— I assure you: He will never lose his reward!”

Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward.”

For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.

“ And the King will say,‘ I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

“ Beware that you don’t look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels are always in the presence of my heavenly Father.

If anyone gives you even a cup of water because you belong to the Messiah, I tell you the truth, that person will surely be rewarded.“ But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone hung around your neck.

Then he said,“ I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven.“ And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me.But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea.

As you know, you Philippians were the only ones who gave me financial help when I first brought you the Good News and then traveled on from Macedonia. No other church did this.Even when I was in Thessalonica you sent help more than once.I don’t say this because I want a gift from you. Rather, I want you to receive a reward for your kindness.At the moment I have all I need— and more! I am generously supplied with the gifts you sent me with Epaphroditus. They are a sweet smelling sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God.And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.

Remember this— a farmer who plants only a few seeds will get a small crop. But the one who plants generously will get a generous crop.You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure.“ For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.”And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.As the Scriptures say,“ They share freely and give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will be remembered forever.”For God is the one who provides seed for the farmer and then bread to eat. In the same way, he will provide and increase your resources and then produce a great harvest of generosity in you.Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.So two good things will result from this ministry of giving— the needs of the believers in Jerusalem will be met, and they will joyfully express their thanks to God.As a result of your ministry, they will give glory to God. For your generosity to them and to all believers will prove that you are obedient to the Good News of Christ.And they will pray for you with deep affection because of the overflowing grace God has given to you.Thank God for this gift too wonderful for words!

“ Love your enemies! Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to be repaid. Then your reward from heaven will be very great, and you will truly be acting as children of the Most High, for he is kind to those who are unthankful and wicked.

Then a poor widow came and dropped in two small coins.Jesus called his disciples to him and said,“ I tell you the truth, this poor widow has given more than all the others who are making contributions.

In the same way, it is not my heavenly Father’s will that even one of these little ones should perish.

In the same way, wisdom is sweet to your soul. If you find it, you will have a bright future, and your hopes will not be cut short.

For if others see you— with your“ superior knowledge”— eating in the temple of an idol, won’t they be encouraged to violate their conscience by eating food that has been offered to an idol?So because of your superior knowledge, a weak believer for whom Christ died will be destroyed.And when you sin against other believers by encouraging them to do something they believe is wrong, you are sinning against Christ.So if what I eat causes another believer to sin, I will never eat meat again as long as I live— for I don’t want to cause another believer to stumble.

You will always have the poor among you, and you can help them whenever you want to. But you will not always have me.She has done what she could and has anointed my body for burial ahead of time.

“ Awake, O sword, against my shepherd, the man who is my partner,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.“ Strike down the shepherd, and the sheep will be scattered, and I will turn against the lambs.

When Jesus returned to Capernaum, a Roman officer came and pleaded with him,“ Lord, my young servant lies in bed, paralyzed and in terrible pain.”

Whatever you give is acceptable if you give it eagerly. And give according to what you have, not what you don’t have.

It would be better to be thrown into the sea with a millstone hung around your neck than to cause one of these little ones to fall into sin.
