Suppose someone gives even a cup of cold water to a little one who follows me. What I’m about to tell you is true. That person will certainly be rewarded.”

第以杯水飲此小子之一、以其為吾徒也、我誠語汝、彼必不失其賞也、

此小子之一、因其為吾徒、第以杯水飲之者、我誠告爾、彼必不失賞也、

有人第以一杯水、飲此小子之一、因其為門徒、我誠告爾、此人必不失其賞矣、

若有因門徒名義、而予此中最小者以一勺之水、我確語爾、彼亦不失其報矣。』

And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of cold water because he is a disciple, truly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”

And if you give even a cup of cold water to one of the least of my followers, you will surely be rewarded.”

And whoever gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple, truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.”

And whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, truly I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only, in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you he shall in no wise lose his reward.

And whoever gives just a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple— I assure you: He will never lose his reward!”

And whoever gives only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a disciple, I tell you the truth, he will never lose his reward.”

Whoever gives one of these little ones just a cup of cold water to drink in the name of a disciple, most certainly I tell you he will in no way lose his reward.”

God is fair. He will not forget what you have done. He will remember the love you have shown him. You showed it when you helped his people. And you show it when you keep on helping them.

“ The King will reply,‘ What I’m about to tell you is true. Anything you did for one of the least important of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

“ See that you don’t look down on one of these little ones. Here is what I tell you. Their angels in heaven are always with my Father who is in heaven.

What I’m about to tell you is true. Suppose someone gives you a cup of water in my name because you belong to the Messiah. That person will certainly not go without a reward.“ What if someone leads one of these little ones who believe in me to sin? If they do, it would be better if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.

Jesus said,“ What I’m about to tell you is true. You need to change and become like little children. If you don’t, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.Anyone who takes the humble position of this child is the most important in the kingdom of heaven.Anyone who welcomes a little child like this one in my name welcomes me.“ What if someone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin? If they do, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and be drowned at the bottom of the sea.

And you believers at Philippi know what happened when I left Macedonia. Not one church helped me in the matter of giving and receiving. You were the only one that did. That was in the early days when you first heard the good news.Even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me help when I needed it. And you did it more than once.It is not that I want your gifts. What I really want is what is best for you.I have received my full pay and have more than enough. I have everything I need. That’s because Epaphroditus brought me the gifts you sent. They are a sweet- smelling offering. They are a gift that God accepts. He is pleased with it.My God will meet all your needs. He will meet them in keeping with his wonderful riches. These riches come to you because you belong to Christ Jesus.

Here is something to remember. The one who plants only a little will gather only a little. And the one who plants a lot will gather a lot.Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give. You shouldn’t give if you don’t want to. You shouldn’t give because you are forced to. God loves a cheerful giver.And God is able to shower all kinds of blessings on you. So in all things and at all times you will have everything you need. You will do more and more good works.It is written,“ They have spread their gifts around to poor people. Their good works continue forever.”( Psalm 112:9)God supplies seed for the person who plants. He supplies bread for food. God will also supply and increase the amount of your seed. He will increase the results of your good works.You will be made rich in every way. Then you can always give freely. We will take your many gifts to the people who need them. And they will give thanks to God.Your gifts meet the needs of the Lord’s people. And that’s not all. Your gifts also cause many people to thank God.You have shown yourselves to be worthy by what you have given. So other people will praise God because you obey him. That proves that you really believe the good news about Christ. They will also praise God because you share freely with them and with everyone else.Their hearts will be filled with love for you when they pray for you. God has given you grace that is better than anything.Let us give thanks to God for his gift. It is so great that no one can tell how wonderful it really is!

But love your enemies. Do good to them. Lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then you will receive a lot in return. And you will be children of the Most High God. He is kind to people who are evil and are not thankful.

But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins. They were worth only a few pennies.Jesus asked his disciples to come to him. He said,“ What I’m about to tell you is true. That poor widow has put more into the offering box than all the others.

It is the same with your Father in heaven. He does not want any of these little ones to die.

I want you to know that wisdom is like honey for you. If you find it, there is hope for you tomorrow. So your hope will not be cut off.

Suppose you, with all your knowledge, are eating in a temple of one of those gods. And suppose someone who has a weak sense of what is right and wrong sees you. Won’t that person become bold and eat what is sacrificed to statues of gods?If so, then your knowledge destroys that weak brother or sister for whom Christ died.Suppose you sin against them in this way. Then you harm their weak sense of what is right and wrong. By doing this, you sin against Christ.So suppose what I eat causes my brother or sister to fall into sin. Then what should I do? I will never eat meat again. In that way, I will not cause them to fall.

You will always have poor people with you. You can help them any time you want to. But you will not always have me.She did what she could. She poured perfume on my body to prepare me to be buried.

“ My sword, wake up! Attack my shepherd! Attack the man who is close to me,” announces the Lord who rules over all.“ Strike down the shepherd. Then the sheep will be scattered. And I will turn my hand against their little ones.

When Jesus entered Capernaum, a Roman commander came to him. He asked Jesus for help.“ Lord,” he said,“ my servant lies at home and can’t move. He is suffering terribly.”

Do you really want to give? Then the gift is measured by what someone has. It is not measured by what they don’t have.

Suppose people lead one of these little ones to sin. It would be better for those people to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck.
