Next were Philip and Bartholomew, and also Thomas and Matthew the tax collector. Two more were James, son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus.

When they had entered Jerusalem, they went to the upstairs room where they were staying. Peter and John, and James, and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot, and Judas son of James were there.

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax booth.“ Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.

On the next day Jesus wanted to set out for Galilee. He found Philip and said to him,“ Follow me.”( Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the town of Andrew and Peter.)Philip found Nathanael and told him,“ We have found the one Moses wrote about in the law, and the prophets also wrote about– Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”Nathanael replied,“ Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip replied,“ Come and see.”

Now Thomas( called Didymus), one of the twelve, was not with them when Jesus came.The other disciples told him,“ We have seen the Lord!” But he replied,“ Unless I see the wounds from the nails in his hands, and put my finger into the wounds from the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will never believe it!”Eight days later the disciples were again together in the house, and Thomas was with them. Although the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said,“ Peace be with you!”Then he said to Thomas,“ Put your finger here, and examine my hands. Extend your hand and put it into my side. Do not continue in your unbelief, but believe.”Thomas replied to him,“ My Lord and my God!”Jesus said to him,“ Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are the people who have not seen and yet have believed.”

So these approached Philip, who was from Bethsaida in Galilee, and requested,“ Sir, we would like to see Jesus.”Philip went and told Andrew, and they both went and told Jesus.

Simon Peter, Thomas( called Didymus), Nathanael( who was from Cana in Galilee), the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples of his were together.

So Thomas( called Didymus) said to his fellow disciples,“ Let us go too, so that we may die with him.”

As he went along, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax booth.“ Follow me,” he said to him. And he got up and followed him.

Simon( whom he named Peter), and his brother Andrew; and James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,Matthew, Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, Simon who was called the Zealot,Judas the son of James, and Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.

and when James, Cephas, and John, who had a reputation as pillars, recognized the grace that had been given to me, they gave to Barnabas and me the right hand of fellowship, agreeing that we would go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

From James, a slave of God and the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes dispersed abroad. Greetings!

The next day Paul went in with us to see James, and all the elders were there.

But I saw none of the other apostles except James the Lord’s brother.

He motioned to them with his hand to be quiet and then related how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. He said,“ Tell James and the brothers these things,” and then he left and went to another place.

From Jude, a slave of Jesus Christ and brother of James, to those who are called, wrapped in the love of God the Father and kept for Jesus Christ.

After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth.“ Follow me,” he said to him.

After they stopped speaking, James replied,“ Brothers, listen to me.

“ Lord,” Judas( not Judas Iscariot) said,“ what has happened that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”

Jesus replied,“ Have I been with you for so long, and you have not known me, Philip? The person who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say,‘ Show us the Father’?

Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

Then Jesus, when he looked up and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, said to Philip,“ Where can we buy bread so that these people may eat?”( Now Jesus said this to test him, for he knew what he was going to do.)Philip replied,“ Two hundred silver coins worth of bread would not be enough for them, for each one to get a little.”
